question on Illinois CCW
As of yesterday, my permit is expired.
I sent in the information for renewal in January, they have had my money since then. What in the world would take them so long for a simple renewal?
My Florida renewal was issued in 2 weeks.
I have checked their website, and it states that I am "Under review"
My buddy sent for his renewal in December, and still does not have it. His is "Under review" also.
Thanks,
WR

In the same boat here. Did you do fingerprints?
Edit: Just checked mine and it's active, just haven't received it in the mail yet.

Dont be surprised if the fees for CCW & FOID suddenly get raised by the Toilet King, he just signed a new gun bill today (4/24).
Not sure what was in it but it probably has window in it to facilitate the fee amount schedule.

No, I didn't include fingerprints on the renewal. They had them from my initial application. They haven't changed, I still have all 10 fingers......
I'm sure they are still in the data base.

They're swamped with renewals. Remember that most of the CCW permits that were issued are now coming up for renewal at the same time. So they got flooded with renewals in addition to new applications. After the flood is handled fewer renewals will come due at the same time and they'll be spread out over the next few years.
It's going to happen every 5 years as that's when most of the CCW permits were issued and expire.

I'm in the same boat as you. They've had mine for about 100 days. Mine "expired" last week, and the web site says "under review". If it wasn't a dysfunctional, mismanaged mess, it wouldn't be Illinois.

You may continue to carry in Illinois with your expired permit as long as you have applied for and paid for your renewal. The new permit renewal date will reflect when it was issued so you are not losing any money.
