Holster for N Frame CCW
Dear Forumites, I am wondering what holsters you have found to be practical for concealing a 4 inch N frame with a square butt. Thank you for your suggestions!

I have a couple of Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancakes, and they are ok.
I recently had a local holster maker make one for my 3" 629 Deluxe, and am very pleased. He cut me a deal because I'm military, but I think he charges $65 for them. PM me for contact info if you are interested.

Bianchi #6 suede iwb (I forget what size) and a pair of clip on suspenders works for me. Instead of wearing back strap of suspenders straight down the back shift it over to a spot above your hip pocket makes it carry well. And I carry it at 3 o'clock on my strong side BTW.
Don Hume makes a molded finished iwb holster (#215) but 4" is a special order.

Azula made in South Africa sold by Amazon (I know I know...)
Gary C leather holster made in Montana

I think I have a Double Agent Dual Position holster made by El Paso Saddlery - it's been so long since I used it I am not if that is the precise one or not but I do know they make this one. I carried a Model 27 Classic on a drive to Colorado some years back. Not as easy to conceal as I thought it would be but a loose jacket got the job done.

If you can find a used Roy Baker Pancake, that would be my first choice.

I have a very nice 4" N frame holster from Shado holsters. It's an OWB, compact, well made, open bottom, no strap. My band width is **** right now and I can't even pull up a link. It says South Africa on the back. It some similarities to a pancake but not. Kind of a hybrid I guess.

My all-around favorite for larger sidearms is the Kramer "MSP Paddle". I have several, and the model has worked well with my 4" K and N frames, and my H&K USP 45 (which is a big handgun). I've used that with a T shirt. I also have a Kramer "Vertical Scabbard" for the 4" N frames (I used to carry my M58 as a duty weapon and sometimes in plain clothes); it took works well. A best quality belt is mandatory. I have a few; the best I have found recently is from "Mean Gene" Leather.

Reason: bad tying and poor proofreading. As usual.

One might look at either Garrett Industries or Wright Leather Works ..
Both quality holster makers ..

I carried a 4" model 29 for a while back when I was young and strong. I carried it in a Milt Sparks Summer Special with Bruce Nelson's gun belt.

I purchased a used Milt Sparks Thunder Ranch Summer Special for S&W N Frame on a whim and got a good deal (love me some Milt Sparks Leather). I was thoroughly surprised how comfortable and concealable a S&W model 58 could be. Wore it on a couple 3 mile hikes with my puppy and I never forgot it was there but it didn't bother me

I like the Kramer Vertical Scabbard for my 4" N-frames. My preference is that the trigger and the hammer be covered or shrouded.
