Looking for suggestions on a good carry holster for a 3" 629-4.

Check out "Simply Rugged"s web site.I have one of his pancake holsters for my 3" M 629-2 and it is very comfortable & concealable."Galcos" Combat Master is another good one.I have one of each but the "S R" is my favorite.

Galco is where I would start the search. For a revolver always choose a holster that will place the cylinder it the natural waistline that is above the belt line. Sidedraw, a carry angle of 25 degrees positive regardless of barrel length (in practice one cannot 'feel' a change in angle unless it is more than 5 degrees). Crossdraw a carry angle of 15 degrees negative, ditto. Absolutely avoid anything that carries the cylinder higher than the natural waistline or you'll need a ridiculously wide, stiff belt (to make the holster work as if a 'semi-shoulder holster'. Anything lower will negatively impact on concealment and comfort.

I carry my 3” 629s and 657s in either a Galco Combat Master or Jackass Shoulder rig. Both meet work very well.
