Bedroom Gun...Got One?
30+ years for me.
Stainless Randall 1911 45 hanging on the bedpost
with a flashlight on the nightstand.
Cuz's wife sent me an Olight Pro for Christmas...what??
Just happened to have a P226 "Extreme" with a rail.
No brainer to attach........Wow.
Randall is now safe retired and replaced with the P226.

Youth model 20 gauge 870.
I pray I never need it, I’m afraid of what I’d do to a person who broke into our home.

My Sig 226 Legion gets the comfy spot next to the bed. One of the very few “modern” pistols I have these days ..... and there’s good reason for this one!

My trusty non police trade in 6906, and a Mossberg Shockwave mounted to the bed. Sig P365 lays on the nightstand when I'm in bed.
I have an old dresser that has a secret drawer in it. Keep a LCP, 642, and a Glock 23 with a 9mm conversion barrel. Plus a few G19, G23, and Sig P365 mags.
I only keep them in there cause I ran out of room in my 2 safes. I need to come up with a better way to store handguns.

S&W 629 Classic, loaded with .44 Special (Hornady Critical Defense).
It is simple as a rock without a safety, a real man-stopper, and has a nice smooth - but heavy - DA trigger pull. I don't want a light trigger until my head clears completely if I'm jolted awake at night!

Bedroom gun? It depends. Usually it is a RIA 1911-A1 loaded with nice reliable 230 FMJ's. Last night it was a four inch 66-2 w/ some nice handy Remington .38 Special +125 JHP's. Tonight ... probably a 625-2 loaded with the ever present 230 gr. FMJ's. Must say... also keep a nice handy V-42 reproduction by Boker. Nice little thing. Also use it for my tactical letter opener when at the church office. Sincerely. bruce.

Charles Daly Honcho in 410 readily available and a revolver and semi auto in the safe, don't remember which ones. I guess it's been long enough I need to take them out and service them.

Got two. One is whatever I've been carrying lately. Was a Beretta PX4 Compact 9mm, but for maybe a month or so now I've been EDCing my Colt Govt Model so that's been my primary nightstand gun. Secondary is my Beretta 92FS. 9mm ammo is 147gr HST, .45 ammo is 230gr HST. I keep the guns in Remora holsters to keep me from inadvertently putting my finger on the trigger if awaken in the middle of the night. I've got my phone and a flashlight handy.
Would like to add a PCC at some point for static defense. Leaning towards a Beretta CX4 Storm as they can take 92 mags.
I also do what I can to layer my home defenses so as to make it as difficult, noisy, and time consuming as possible for someone breaking in.

Sig P220 w / Streamlight laser/light combo. A couple 10-round mags will let me get to the AR and the 870. After that, I’m ready until the fuss is well over, and I hope to be only replacing drywall.

Bedroom is on second floor with an enclosed staircase. I've got a G19 and a Mossberg 12 by the bed. Glock has strobe type light on the rail. Since I gotta get up to pee 47 times a night, I'm hoping burglars come in when I'm already awake.

A 1937 Brazilian contract Smith & Wesson Model 1917 .45. I figure what can the news media say about a senior citizen protecting himself with an 80 year old gun.

Sig seems to be a popular choice. Mine is a MK25.
I just traded away my old nightstand gun, a Model 69 with tritium sights.

I don't have any guns in my kitchen. I don't have a gun in the bathroom - unless it is on my belt when I go there to "mull over" the problems of the world. Other than that, I have at least one accessible firearm in every room of my home, sometimes more. Bedroom currently has a Rem 870, 12 X20in. Night stand comes equipped with a SIG P220 45. There are others but those are the two that I don't have to get out of bed to get.

Bedroom bedside table has a S&W 469 with a couple spare 12 round mags. A 432P, a Sig 365, and a 1911 are also in various locations around the house.

S&W 69 loaded with Gold Dot 44 specials. I thought about using my Glock 21, but feel a little more comfortable with the heavier trigger pull when I may be woken up in the middle of the night and still half asleep.

I remember a Paul Harrell vid on youtube where he tested several types of bullet designs in his meat target simulations. The best performers overall were the Hornady Critical Defense and Barnes. Penetration, consistent expansion, weight retention. Test included the popular HST which also was good but came up behind Hornady and Barnes. Can't remember the caliber, but was probably either a 45 or 9mm.

At the end of the day my revolver goes on my nightstand, back on my hip when I go to work in the morning. Before I carried a gun for work I kept a 4” 10-5 in my nightstand.

For the last 40 years this nickel Model 15. I could neither find nor afford the Model 67 I wanted so I had to "settle" for nickel.

For me it changes. Right now it is the gun I have shot the most because of IDPA. A Glock 34 with Ghost 3.3 trigger, Heine Slant pro rear sight and Dawson Precision fiber optic front. Loaded with Winchester White Box 115 JHP.
