Default The dumbest post ever!

Just when I was considering posting about people continually ‘over thinking’ things, this appears!

Seriously..I am amazed. Singularly, very likely the dumbest post ever in a gun forum.

I wouldn’t go that far. Some of yours have been just as bad.

I would highly suggest that the OP seek out some quality training and devote a little bit of time researching force-on-force engagements. It sounds to me like they are young and have been filled with nonsense.

Oh. ABSURD!!

Totally absurd.

Ranks eight up there with the guy I met in the academy that said when he got out on the street, he was going to carry his service revolver with the firing pin removed, and carry a loaded snub under his jacket (anticipating a gun grab - talk about planning to fail). Believe it or not he was successfully "reeducated" and made it to retirement, though always a bit strange.

Where did you hit him, and what kind of ammo were you using?

Probably 38 Special 158 grain LRN. I've seen it first hand even though there were multiple torso shots.

OP, the only way you'll get someone to agree with your idea is if this someone is named Mitt Romney.

If you're engaged in self defense, your goal is to stop the aggressive action as quickly as possible.

Wrong, wrong, and wrong. Actual ammunition cannot be counted on to stop an attacker, and is not always fatal, not is it always disabling. Blanks will perform far less effectively.

Frangible ammunition creates multiple wound channels in a target. It is not similar at all to wax bullets or blanks.

As you can see from the above posted responses, no.

The plug can be wax or a number of other compounds.

Based on a recent Seattle, WA incident, three drug dealers/criminals got into a gun fight injuring some bystanders and killing one of the bystanders. In such a case I would seek cover first and not engage without being certain of my opponent, especially since I am not a LEO and can only engage as a matter of self defense. I totally do not mind if you think this is absurd. I might.

I appreciate all the responses everyone provided. I agree.

I also failed to mention that while bystanders were injured, none of the shooters hit their intended target.
Might be the dumbest thing I have heard from a person with a ccw. if you need to fire your weapon, it probably is urgent & you need it badly. Blanks? Just run away or carry CS or a stun gun.

Y'all do realize this guy hasn't responded to one post?
Sounds like a moronic question posted just to illicit a response.

Yeah or maybe he got put off (or put out) by responses from people who have no filter calling his question "dumb", "dumbest", "moronic" etc.
He's been a member since 2005, so we're not talking about a fly-by...

Anyone who is dumb enough to stand near or behind an evil person or anything trying to harm you, deserves to be shot!!!
So, Don't worry about anything and load heavy with Lead!!!

Lotsa range time after learning to handle handguns is a way of life.

He was hit once in the face, once in the abdomen and twice in the side. We were all using issued 158 grain lead round nose high velocity rounds. We were issued the old FBI hollow points (158 grain +P) after this.

When we were teens a cousin and I made "blanks" with a healthy charge of Unique and my aunt's Gulfwax paraffin (canning wax), pushing the .38 Special cases into the paraffin block. Put 'em in a Smith & Wesson Model 15 and pointed it toward the garage wall and popped one off.

The dandiest hole you ever saw appeared in the sheet rock wall. My aunt wasn't home so we just dragged a steel shelf full of stuff over a few feet to cover the hole and declared it "fixed."

One could kill a person with "wax blanks."

Just sayin'.

Gentlemen, the OP posted what appeared to be a sincere if misguided question. There were several appropriate responses and others that were insulting.

He did respond by editing his original post, probably to avoid the abuse that some of you thought justified. Food for thought for those of you who have never done anything misguided in your lives.

Thread closed.
