Nevada No Longer Honors NE, NC and OR.
Nevada DPS has updated their listing of what states they will honor beginning June 1, 2020. They have not added any new states but have removed Nebraska, North Carolina and Oregon from their listing. Handgunlaw.us does not know the reasons for dropping these states. Every year about this time the Nevada DPS puts out the list of states they will honor and many years there have been changes to their listing. We will update Handgunlaw.us late this evening with these changes in who Nevada Honors. You can view the listing at https://rccd.nv.gov/uploadedFiles/gs...2%20(002)B.pdf

Well I'll cross Nevada off the vacation list. Not a Vegas fan anyway.

well Nebraska will probably pull their reciprocity from Nevada... Nebraska plays fair... and if Nevada takes the ball and goes home, the game is over...

I don't think Oregon recognizes Nevada, and that may be the reason. Tit for Tat. I would like to get the Nevada license as I go to the Reno area a few times a year, but they require some target shooting and I don't have the time.

Easier to open carry - person/vehicle. No license or residency requirement.

We need to remember to be careful about getting " non resident " permits . That is " permits from other states " than where we live . Many states do not honor / accept " non resident permits " . regards Paul

Not sure what goes on up there in Nevada. They dropped the AZ permit for about a year and then reinstated it. No changes on the AZ end that I could tell. They just did it.

Colorado, Michigan, Maine, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Pennsylvania and Florida only honor Resident permits from the states they honor. All others honor a states permit if Resident or Non-Resident.
You have to watch out for Maine. They are permitless carry but they don't honor all other states permits. They only honor those states permits that honor them. Without a permit Maine issues or Honors you can't carry in their state parks or Nat Parks.

Several yrs ago I was planning a trip from Tx for Florida . I had recently moved from Az to Tx . I had contacted Az DPS that my residence status had changed which turned my Az permit to " non resident " . I took the time to check the states of Louisiana , Mississippi , Alabama , Georgia and Florida . None of those states at that time honored my Az non resident permit . Things might have changed since then . Regards Paul

National Constitutional Carry. Permits are permission slips.

Florida has a general “policy” of not honoring others states licenses for anything they don’t have to honor. Not just gun permits, but professional/business licenses.
As we are a major migration/travel/tourist destination, Florida wants you to have to purchase their permit/license. If other states didn’t insist on Florida honoring their resident permits to get reciprocal agreements, they wouldn’t do that either.
However, Florida non resident permit is honored is quite a few states. So it’s good for something other than Florida

I recollect bringing guns to Nevada but I also recollect something was weird in their reciprocity. Clearly, they have offended Nebraska DPS.
Folks, don't get your trousers in a twist over national reciprocity. When there is only one party controlling the US Congress and the White House it MIGHT happen and you know which party that is without my spelling it out and getting political and irritating the moderators. It's a non-starter otherwise so waving it around like a banner is a waste of your energy. Further, don't expect the Supreme Court to do it for you, either.
Moderators, I hope that was sufficiently non-political even if it was less than vague. If I failed I apologize and you can delete this post without offending little old Senior Chief Yoda.......

It's easy to get a non resident Utah permit. Can do it through the mail.
Good in Nevada.

I have the non-resident Utah permit, as well as the Arizona non-resident permit. I'm thinking of getting the Florida non-resident permit, and those should get me across the states if I decide to take a drive. I don't think my Oregon permit is much good but in a couple states.
