What are some safe and comfortable options in holsters for nickel finished revolvers (ones that wouldn't cause any draw wear)? Paddle holster would be my preference but would consider belt holsters as well. Thanks for the help!

There's no such thing as a holster that won't cause finish wear. They all do. Some things can be done to minimize it, but eventually you'll end up with some wear (there may be some exceptions for those guns with one of the newer, harder, ultra-wear-resistant finishes...nickel is not one of them).

Look for a leather holster with a smooth leather lining. Rough or suede linings can trap dirt that can abrade the gun's finish. Clean the holster interior frequently. Suede linings can also trap moisture, which can be bad for the gun if it's not allowed to air out and dry between wearings.

Also it should be molded specifically for your gun. If the gun is allowed to move while it's in the holster, that friction can increase wear on the gun's finish.

There are some leather treatments you can apply to the holster interior. Mitch Rosen's Leather Lightning comes to mind. You have to be careful, though, as the wrong treatment can ruin your holster, gun, or both.

Some people like to apply Renaissance Wax to their guns as a way of minimizing finish wear.

None of these approaches will eliminate finish wear, but they can help hold it off for a while.

I love a paddle holster if I'm working in the yard or woods, but not so much for everyday carry, as they ride too low. For shirt tail out carry I like a high pancake holster for revolvers. Tucking a wheel gun IWB can make for a difficult draw, once the cylinder drops below the belt.

ANY GUN carried on a daily basis will start showing holster wear eventually.
My #1 personal favorite holster is a Kramer Leather Horsehide Belt Scabbard. The Horsehide retains its perfectly molded and boned shape better than Cowhide, is smoother inside than Cowhide (for less wear) and won't stretch as much as Cowhide so the fit remains truer over time.

Any carry weapon is going to get finish wear, some holsters are worse than others. I prefer leather holsters, kydex is pretty unforgiving of body or weapon contours, and nylon is a bit "scratchy" even before it collects dirty. Suede lined holsters are soft on finishes until they collect dirt and/or moisture. Horsehide is more expensive, but might be the best choice.

Barami Hip-Grip

Something with a smooth lining. That'll minimize it, but won't eliminate it over the long term.

Which is why , with one exception, my carry pieces aren't collectible, and are generally stainless.

On of the problems with the Barami Hip-Grip is that there's nothing protecting the gun. Your clothing will rub against the gun whenever you move. It could potentially cause more wear than a properly fitting holster.
