Default Need holster advice for 351PD

just curious if anyone carries this gun and if so what is a good holster choice that fits the gun properly? The gun is new to me and I currently do also have a model 637 I carry so was curious if the basic J frame holsters I have for that gun would also fit the 22? Looking specifically for IWB or ankle for back up. I just cant seem to find much out there specifically listing that gun model. Thanks so much in advance.

It will pretty well fit any J frame frame holster designed for the 1 7/8" barrel.

if you decide on an ankle holster, Galco makes an excellent one, the Ankle Glove. i have one and it works with my 351 pd. they are a few dollars over $100, which is the only drawback.

They are such light pistols my old velcro/nylon ankle holster holds it well, just hot this time of year. If I'm carrying mine IWB, I use a small Sticky holster. It never moves. Typically any J frame holster (snubby) will work.

As noted, fits well in all my J frame holsters.

The added bonus noted by Kraynky is super lightweight nature. Some holster or carry options that don’t work with a regular Airweight or steel J Frame suddenly become viable. My example is a 351 can slip into the outside pocket of nylon jacket with a pocket holster and be hard to catch. I find an Airweight 442 prints too much in Carhartt jacket pocket. Amazing difference.

However, let me know if you come up with a decent speed reload process. I treat mine as a one cylinder and done.

Hold up there a minute! Generally this is true, BUT the newer shrouded barrels don't always fit in the same holster as one with a standard barrel.

As I recall the 351 will have that shrouded barrel, so be warned.

For example, I have a 342 (shrouded barrel) that does not fit in ALL of my leather and kydex holsters that my 640,36,37 and 60 all fit.

It will fit in a more "broken in" or stretched holster.

If you have the gun, just try it in your holsters. If you don't have the gun yet, and you're getting it from a local shop/seller, bring a holster with you when you go check it out before buying. You can also try contacting the makers of your holsters and ask them if the holsters you have will fit the 351PD.
