Default Droopy drawers

My wife says I wear my clothes too loose and my pants always sag.
When I first got my CC permit she made a disparaging remark about it but since then it's never been mentioned.
The only time she's aware that I have a gun on me is when I disarm, like going into a concert or a library.
Otherwise she don't know that I always carry, all the time. That's why my pants droop. I carry a snubbie in a front pocket.
Sometime - often, actually - a person could see the end of the grip if they looked.
Apparently, she don't look.
It's amazing just how little attention people actually pay to each other. When I first carried I was worried about printing. I got over that pretty quickly. I think it's interesting that I always have a gun on me and no one knows. Not even my wife.

Depending somewhat on one’s body shape, concealed carry clothes do not have to be baggy, droopy, way oversized or make an individual look sloppy.

I carried a compact semi-auto (not sub-compact) and reload for almost fifteen years every day at work—in a suit and tie. I even removed my jacket often. Completely, comfortably concealed and adequately accessible.

Now that I’m retired my pants have a 1” larger waist but are otherwise not baggy. My covering printed shirt is commonplace for the season and activity. Doesn’t look sloppy. I carry a full size gun AIWB. Nobody knows

I contend that most people don't notice a seriously printing gun anyway.

I wear a n frame 325 in an OB and have yet to get any reaction even in the summertime when it is often just covered by a long T shirt and if you LOOK there is a bulge at the stocks. Most barely avoid getting run over let alone notice covered gun bumps.

When you're a short, chubby dude, as I am, you learn to wear loose pants, especially jeans, for comfort. Then you ensure that you use a top notch belt, you cinch it tight enough for comfort but also tight enough to not let your belt or pocket gun cause drooping, and nobody EVER EVER notices. Not on the belt (assuming good concealment) and not in the pocket.

Even gun people don't notice.

"I know you're carrying but where?" is a question I have heard often.

Only if your actual concealed gun, inside it’s holster, could be projected on the little phone screen people are concentrating on could folks actually know you had a gun. Just a modicum of concealed carry effort is required to hide a gun adequately.

A good friend of mine just retired after 30 years in law enforcement. Back when I first got my concealed carry permit I'd occasionally ask him to just look me over and see if he could tell I was carrying. I ended up "killing" him about 3/4 of the time -- even after decades on the job, he couldn't spot the gun. He confessed that most officers pick up on behavior to spot someone carrying -- especially things like unconsciously repositioning a poorly-secured gun -- rather than looking for the gun itself.

So, for anyone new to legal carry -- relax! That alone will do most of the concealment for you.

My wife never bothers to ask. She knows I'm armed.

I think it's probably more accurate to say "I always have a gun on me but no one comments".

I observe people for a living and I frequently catch people printing. It's also been my experience that one of the most obvious "tells" is that if someone has a weapon on them and I have to approach them they will almost always reach for it to assure themselves that it's hidden and secure. I never say anything unless my duties require it. I see it at church a lot (or I used to back when we could go to church). Usually, due to a wardrobe malfunction. Even then I'd usually mention it to one of the Pastors and let them deal with it.

I thought I had the manager at the apartments I live in fooled until she called me on it.

So I said all that to say this, you run into people every day who know you're armed, they just don't say anything.

Suspenders: have you tried Hikers? They go under your shirt, have a clip to the center rear belt loop and attach to button up front. I want to try them.

I prefer relaxed-fit jeans as I've grown accustomed to having circulation in my legs. I don't really do oversized pants for IWB carry, though. I can wear my pants with or without a gun. I do make sure my belt will accomodate IWB carry, though.

Suspenders can be a good option. I like Perry Suspenders. They hook onto the belt. I don't wear them very often, but when I do, I wear mine over my undershirt and under my overshirt. FWIW, I've read they're popular with US Secret Service Special Agents on protection details because of all the cra stuff they have to carry.

As my grandson said at dinner one night on the deck "your probably carrying a gun."
And I said "You probably right..."
No printing with Duluth jeans in front pocket.

I know there's something of a stigma against this brand because apparently some folks feel that it it's too obvious as concealed carry attire, (I beg to differ) but I wear 5.11 Tactical Pants, Shorts, and Belts.

They're comfortable, the pants/shorts have plenty of pockets to store just about everything you need, the belt holds both my pants up securely with my SW40VE in its IWB Holster, and it's all made of heavy duty material with heavy duty construction.

I used to struggle because the pants/shorts I was wearing would droop down under the wear of my firearm, but with a proper pair of pants/shorts and a proper belt, it's effortless. Now I just step into my 5.11 Tactical Pants or 5.11 Taclite Shorts, strap on my 5.11 Tactical Belt with my gun, fill the pockets with everything else I need, (my wallet, my phone, my knife, my BUG, and 2 spare magazines) then I walk out the door with confidence.

Folks can say all they want about 5.11 being a brand which has become so synonymous with concealed carry that anyone who sees you wearing 5.11 brand clothing will automatically know that you're carrying, but assuming that there's any truth to that, then it most likely only applies to other law-abiding citizens who are into concealed carry and hang out on firearms forums, which obviously isn't a concern to me. So far, nobody has given me any odd looks to indicate that they know I'm carrying a firearm on my person while wearing 5.11 brand clothing, so it seems more like a bold assumption made by firearms enthusiasts online rather than an objective fact.

Personally, anyone who knows the 5.11 brand that well is probably a gun person, anyway. I don't think the non-gun world has a clue.

Long story made short, after my 2018 house fire I decided I didn't need fancy clothes anymore. Then I got invited to a black tie wedding so Men's Wearhouse's BOGO deal got me a suit and a tuxedo, both of which I've worn twice. Otherwise, it's jeans and cargo pants and I get my cargo pants at an Army/Navy type store and BOY HOWDY, you can hide a tank in those front hip pockets (not the flap side pockets, that's dumb, they're harder to reach and Velcro closed) and nobody, I mean NOBODY, can spot the gun.

Leastways, nobody ever spots mine and it's either a J frame or a compact 9mm in pocket holsters.

Here we go with the 5.11s again.

This is my opinion but if your method of concealment is predicated on people not noticing you need to change it. Because people do notice.

The next time you see a cop or a first responder or Fish and Wildlife being interviewed on TV take a look at what they're wearing, because it's almost always the 5.11 tactical pants and the 5.11 tactical polo. In fact our County Sheriff's Department issues exactly that uniform to their Detectives. I've been issued that exact uniform by two different security companies.

5.11s are literally cop clothes. It's been my experience that cops notice people that dress like them and criminals notice people who dress like cops. Criminals may not know that those are specifically 5.11 pants but I bet most of them can tell you that that's what cops wear. So even if most people don't notice the very people who do notice are the people whose attention I'm trying to avoid. When you add to that the fact that they're $60 a pair now I just don't see the point.

I live in Colorado. There are a lot of people in this state who dress like they do all their shopping at REI. About four years ago I decided to simplify my wardrobe. I went out and bought six pairs of Wrangler cargo pants and 6 camp shirts. I've always known that I blend right into the crowd dressed like that but I didn't realize how much I blend in until one morning last year. I was sitting in the waiting room at my audiologist when I looked around me and realized that every guy in the waiting room was wearing the exact same pants. The only difference was the color.

I generally prefer OWB to IWB carry, for comfort reasons. Because as some have stated above, you need a size or two larger to avoid a tight waist.

Couple years ago, I found Wrangler was making a line of bluejeans with a slight stretch material. Normal fitting, but maybe a 1 or 2 inch stretch in the waist. Work great for IWB, and unlike some earlier stretch pants I have seen, these really do look like normal jeans. I have a couple pairs for when I do IWB carry.

I always carry. Some know. Most have no clue. The few that know questioned me, “ your kind of thick in the middle, what are you carrying”? I show them, phone, flashlight, multi tool, and pepper spray on my belt. Then I get the puzzled look. They can’t see the 442 in my left pocket and it’s twin at around 2OK. In my waist. Bigfoot Steel Core Belt holds it all up. No sag, no drag.

This time of year is the most challenging. Shorts and a T shirt kinda guys like me can attest! The quality belt and my Alien Gear IWB work, with cargo shorts and a slightly oversized T shirt, which is almost always black. if I turn and bend a certain way, you can tell I'm carrying; the Gluck 43x isn't the smallest handled pistol. But I routinely go to Sam's or Krogers, shop for an hour no problem.

My "problem" is that I've lost 'bout 90 pounds and nearly 10 inches offa my waist. Almost all of my clothes are baggy and I've had to resize my belts.
Fortunately, I still have some clothes from 2 to 3 decades ago before I gained all of the weight in the first place.
Anyway, I have lotsa loose fitting shirts that easily conceal my snubby owb.

I have to admit, I've seen footage of guys wearing their pants like that trying to run. It's quite hilarious.

You know, for the first few years that this so-called "style" began to catch on, I honestly thought that it was supposed to be an exaggerated joke when I saw it in movies. Sure, I saw some folks wearing saggy pants, but nothing like that until a few years after it had made it big in the Hip-Hop scene.

Frankly, I don't understand why anyone would choose to dress that way, but then again, I can't understand why men these days choose to tie their hair up in a bun, wear stretch pants, and shave off all their body hair either.
I've never been much for fashion anyway, but the fact that fashion often encourages folks to dress foolishly is definitely a contributing factor in regards to why I never took an interest in fashion.

Honestly, if I didn't know better, I would think that fashion trends are nothing more than an elaborate method of amusement for the wealthiest people on Earth.
I can just imagine a bunch of extremely rich folks sitting together, waxing poetic about the days of old in which nobles were entertained by jesters in silly attire, to which one of them suggests that they hire someone to serve as a jester for their amusement, then one of the particularly business savvy folks in the room who owns a number of textile factories proposes that they could trick the peasants into paying exorbitant amounts of money on silly clothing by pushing it as trendy.

I wanted to try suspenders but the bathroom had me worried. I was thinking how in the world would I do this? If I wore the suspenders on the outside, I think I could manage but then how do you tuck the shirt in? So many questions.....

Like I said, I've worn my Perry Suspenders over my undershirt and under my overshirt. And they hook onto my belt, using J-clips that go under the belt. Without going into too much detail (you're welcome...), I can unhook the suspenders from my belt, leaving them in place, do what I need to do, then just hook them back up when I'm done. Not difficult at all.

I use Perry Toolbelt suspenders when I'm wearing a duty belt.

I run Perry suspenders. Even if I don't have a gun on. My butt failed to keep up with my gut.

I thought this was going to be a thread about Gen X, Y, Z or Millenials walking around with their pants hanging halfway down their backside.
I saw a white guy around 40+ years old with his pants so far down you could see the hem of his underwear the other day.
I would have about busted a gut laughing if it weren't so pathetic.
You'd think someone his age would have better sense.
I fear for our country….

Nope, not the point at all. The point of concealed carry is to have a sidearm; the rest is fluff.

Do you prefer to go "untucked" in the heat of Summer? Our new uBEE undergarment suspenders are designed to fit comfortably beneath your shirt. These suspenders are similar to our regular product line, which feature Perry clips that hook on the sides and adjustable straps to fit your torso, but also include added features for maximum comfort: a soft underside lining and thin, lightweight straps. They also do not have the leather patch on the back.

Our uBEE Perry Suspenders attach to the side of your belt at two points, rather than three like our other suspenders."

I think you're much closer to the truth than you realize. I have similar thoughts when I see the latest pics of models on international fashion runways, wearing the most ludicrously outlandish outfits. As John Oliver would say, "How it this a thing?"

When I decided that I was getting too fat, I decided to do something about it.
I started eating a healthy diet at a caloric deficit, lifting twice a week and cardio at least 3 times a week.
Took years to get the weight off but my idea was to lose the weight in a healthy, sustainable way.
No fad or starvation diets for me.
I burned a lot of fat by hiking and biking the local mountain trails.
Joined a gym for spin classes and working out.

My wife and I at spin class.

Health and fitness has become a lifestyle.

As of last May.

And I've lost 5 more pounds since then.
I now have clothes from size XXL to small.

Did you go cold turkey on sweets/snacks? Or did you use something to taper down?

I didn't know they made those, either. I can't remember exactly which model mine was, but it was one of their heavy-duty suspenders with thicker elastic. But I may have to look into those.

I stop eating at 6:30pm and have nothing with calories until after 10:30am the next morning.
If the snacks and sweets fit into my daily calories and macros, I still have them.
I make sure to have lotsa lean protein. Chicken breast, fish, bison and protein shakes.

For instance, tomorrow my wife and I are planning on a hike. Depending on how far we go, we generally burn 1,500 to 2,000 calories. For breakfast, I'm planning on 'bout 500 calories including a protein shake with 32 grams of protein and 200 calories.
After tomorrow's hike, I'll be in at least a 1,000 calorie deficit. so basically, I'll have 3,000 calories to play with. If I was still trying to lose weight instead of maintaining, I'd probably make that 'bout 2,500 calories.
For supper I'm planning chicken on the grill with a coupla beers and a cigar, rice and some kind of green veggie. Probably around 600 to 700 calories all together. Maybe another 200 calorie protein shake.
That still leaves lotsa room for dessert and some kinda snack.
Just gotta be sure to stop eating at 6:30pm.

Many people don't seem to scrutinize their neighbors at all. Open carry is common enough in my town that I've started a hobby of taking note of how many weapons are on display when I go to the store or other crowded locations. My wife NEVER notices the openly carried handguns. I wouldn't be worried about printing at all if I was reasonably certain that those around me shared my wife's level of situational awareness.

Enter the humble Hawaiian shirt. Loosely draped over the belt, and a good pattern visually hides almost any reasonable bulge.
