Why does she choose the G43 over the G17 for home defense?

Another bedside "tool" I have my
womenfolk keep by the bed.
Get an extra key fob for your car/truck
with the alarm button.
Honking horn will hopefully cause enough distraction
so the defender can get a couple seconds to prep.

Never owned one but some might recommend a 410 revolver for a beginner. There are several recommended, Taurus, Ruger and the SW Governor. Of course they also are adaptable to cartridges.

G43x is my EDC and then bedside, with a spare mag. I like my SW's though!

I use one gun for everything, didn't know there's a specific category of bedside guns...

If you teach her then just use a full-size semi 9mm auto, it's a can-do-it-all gun and relatively easy to learn. She can also carry it if she wants to get her ccw.

If she doesn't carry and the gun is just for home defense I'd even suggest adding a suppressor. I prefer to have my light in my support hand, but if she likes a gun mounted light then so be it.

Hope this helps...
