Virginia - Per § 15.2-915 Local Governments can ban firearms in their buildings/Parks/Community Centers/Special Events etc. The Virginia Legislature gave them that authority by amending Virginia Code 15.2-915 which took effect July 1, 2020. SS 15.2-915. Control of firearms; applicability to authorities and local governmental agencies So we have added that info to the Virginia Page. For those interested in seeing those ordinances and their wording the links are below. We are hoping no more cities pass similar ordinances.

As the law states places off limits must be posted. Local Governments in Alexandria, Arlington County, Charlottesville, Fairfax County, Falls Church and Richmond have passed such ordinances. There could be others. Newport News only prohibits Open Carry on their properties.

The Virginia Citizens Defense League Virginia Citizens Defense League - Home also keeps a listing of cities that have passed such ordinances and they do supply addition info for each city. . You can see their listing at Virginia Citizens Defense League - Virginia Carry Info

New Mexico - Albuquerque has put out what they are calling “Administrative Instruction”
Titled “Noting the Applicability of State Law to Conditions to Entry to City of Albuquerque
Parks and Other Facilities.” They are saying that State Law gives them the right to post Parks and other facilities as they are “Schools!” This is/will be litigated and the local Prosecuting Attorney has dropped charges against one person and has ask the Attorney General of NM for an Opinion on this issue. Until then those in Albuquerque should use caution. You can see the Administrative Instructions at the link below.

Sadly, the current Virginia legislature set our carry laws back by about 30 years. Once again, we have a patchwork of local prohibitions regarding the exercise of 2A rights.

Not only is this latest "Bovine Scat" from the Albuquerque city council a violation of the NM Constitution, it is also totally unenforceable. Heck, according their logic, any street that a school kid could ride their bike on becomes a "gun free zone".

With a fat finger when Updating the site I removed a link to the SYG/Brandishing doc. You can see it at this link. Steve has to fix the link as I can't replace it but looks like I deleted it. OOOPSSSS!!!!
