Now that I am a retired duffer I generally wear cargo pants for daily casual wear. Today as I was about to get in my vehicle I transferred my pocket holstered carry pistol from my pants pocket to the cargo pocket. Now I can easily access it while seated under the steering wheel.

How do you keep it from flopping around your cargo pocket when you are walking ?

I think he means it goes in the cargo pocket while driving.

I transfer the pocket holster and gat back to my upper pocket when not in the vehicle. Although my Duluth Brand Firehose cargo pants seem to hold it firmly even when walking.

Ah, yes. As the commercial says, "No pinch, no sweat, no stink!"

I just wear mine AIWB, like I do any other time. (I occasionally, but rarely, pocket carry.)

I only have the Flex Fire Hose pants from Duluth. I don't think the cargo pockets would be a viable option. At least not for me.

In the past I have carried cross draw, it works better than strong side upper pocket carry when seated, but the seat belt is often in the way.

I have practiced presentations from the thigh cargo pocket and so far I have not experienced anything that would dissuade me. It also works well for me when seated a a table or booth.

I am 6’2” a little above average in height, but my height is made up by my legs. So when I sit in a chair or on a bench I find most too low and my knees are higher than my butt which makes accessing the front pants pocket inconvenient.

FWIW, I started carrying a BUG in an ankle holster specifically for in-car access. Not for everybody, but it works for me.

AIWB all the time (G19) in and out with back up 20rd mag in the waistband, 8 mags in Center console... 12ga(cruiser ready) in back seat with bandleader full of 00buckers.

Albuquerque. My pistol goes into the console cup holder when I get in the truck and back in the OWB holster when I get out. It should be as accessible as possible. No harm in being prepared.

I have a small, cheap holster that fits just right in my cup holder, too. Mainly because it's literally a pain to carry while sitting behind the wheel for any length of time. I transfer it back to right rear pocket when I get out of the car. Now, today, for example, I'm going to an oral surgeon in a few minutes. Most doctor offices don't take kindly to guns & knives on person. The last thing I want to do is p*** somebody off that's going to be screwing around in my mouth, so I'll just leave it home. I very, very rarely leave a pistol in my car for any length of time. My knife, well, if it gets stolen, it's only $40. I don't want some "Pittsburgher" to have my gun on our streets.
With winter coming, I just recently bought a holster for under the left armpit. We'll see how that goes. I'll have a jacket to keep it out of sight. I've never had an ankle holster for BUG, but I may pick one up. (I wish bellbottoms were back in style! We used to get Sea Farers at the Army/Navy stores.)

I bought a magnet that screws under the dash. It holds semi-auto pistols and even stainless steel revolvers just fine, and keeps the gun handy in the vehicle.

I have it mounted under the dash below the steering column, where it's out of sight, but readily available... You can also mount it to the side of the console...

It is basically a strap with hooked clips at each end to secure it without tools and it won't damage the interior of your vehicle... You attach a holster to the strap so you can use it with any gun... I have a Gould & Goodrich 892 ambidextrious holster mounted on mine because it works with whatever I happen to be carrying that day and it's flat and out of the way when not in use...
