Utah Permitless Carry Bill Passes State Senate
Good news. Utah's Permitless Carry Bill, HB 60, was just passed by the state senate.

Great! Does that have to be signed by the governor, and will he?

To answer your questions, yes, it has to be signed by the governor. Will he approve it? Hmmm. Don't know. He's new and still to be tested. We'll have to see. I'm thinking that there's enough pressure, however, that he will sign. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
No, it doesn't get rid of the current permit system. In fact, those who still wish to obtain concealed carry permits are encouraged to do so simply because of the reciprocity Utah has with many other states. I'm definitely going to keep my permit current.

Our new governor, Spencer Cox, has indicated he supports HB60 and will sign the bill.
It looks like Constitutional carry will finally come to Utah. It is about time!
One should never have to ask the governments permission to exercise a right guaranteed by the Bill of Rights.

I wonder if this will effect reciprocity from other states, for those that have Utah permits?

Upon actually reading the very brief linked article, it appears that Utah's existing permit system will remain in place and unaltered . . .

Spencer Cox has indicated that he supports the bill and plans to sign it from what I’ve heard.

Gov. Cox signed HB60. Utah is now a Constitutional Cary state starting May 5th.

I sure wish this was nation wide. But under the biden regime, this will probably be short lived before confiscation starts.
