FBI 2020 Handgun Qualification Course
After viewing the new course of fire for Qualification of Agents, I have decided that this might be a good standard to use for those involved in church security, personal protection etc.
Have any of you shot this qual? If so, your thoughts? Pro and Con....
Seems to have a great mixture of essential skills with fairly short time limits.

Throw us a bone here; what is the "new course" and where are the details located.
Not all of us have the internet memorized....

I always thought the original IDPA classifier was pretty good. It tested several skill sets, such as engaging multiple targets, reloading, and movement.

The last time I qualified for the BU was in 2016, but the course then had just replaced the old PQC I had shot for 25 years before that.
This looks like the last one I shot:
Firearms Training: Could YOU Pass the FBI Pistol Qualification Drill? | CrossBreed Blog).
The original replacement course was the normal 50 rounds and didn't include any rounds at the 25. After loud catterwauling from us firearms instructors 10 rounds were added at the 25, though you can shoot them all into the dirt and still qualify with a round to spare.
The old revolver course had rounds at fifty yards, and the "possible" course started at 60 yards, which meant on some ranges you were shooting from the parking lot.

That is one of the sites that popped up for me.
Your thoughts on this course of fire?

I liked the old PQC better (18 rds at the 25) but this one is fine.
We shot four times a year. We had to shoot our main pistol every time, our second guns twice a year, any issued long guns twice a year, and if you weren’t issued a long gun you still had to qualify with a shotgun once a year.
Besides the qual courses, we would do different shooting drills (multiple targets, shooting on the move, shooting from/behind vehicles) as well. And at least once a year we’d do an additional training where we would run around empty building trying to shoot our buddies in the nads with Simunition rounds.

Interesting course. Definite emphasis on speed and multiple shots (strings of 5-6 shots). Trying to break the 'standard response' training scar of shoot 2 and assess?
I don't like the 'hand switching' under time constraint - to me that is an unnecessary safety risk. Many quals will incorporate one handed and support hand shooting, but separate the strings so there is no time pressure when switching hands.
Also, no head shots? To me that's an important element to assess the shooter's ability to transition from fast body shots to a more deliberate, precise shot under time pressure.
I would also prefer more than one reload under time pressure, though I do like the tight time limit. That would cause some heartburn for the average LEO...
I might just have to run this as a drill to see how folks do. Without the juggling at the 3 yard line...

I see where that was addressed and now it is two separate strings as an alternative.
No head shots also puzzled me, especially when even assailants are wearing body armor.
Sig220....any comments on the lack of head shots from the FBI standpoint?

You can shoot them all in head if you want, and pass.
There are other drills that emphasize head shots. The Bu budgets 1000 rounds per agent per year (for handguns) so its about 250 rounds per session. Generally there are two PQCs and the rest is various drills.
We used to shoot the bullseye course about once a year, too. That was good for some sweaty brows.
The hand-changing thing has never been a problem. It was in the old PQC, too. I’ve never had anyone drop a gun.

Very few, if any, assailants wear body armor. And if they do, officers figure it out pretty quickly . . .
