I use to IWB carry a MS "summer special" for an off-duty commander or High Power. For revolvers it was a RB pancake holster. I got older and wider so its all pancakes for everything now.

Obviously there is one correct answer, and IWB or OWB ain't it.
Carrying any other way than ITH is wrong.
Oh, yes; ITH as in:
In The Holster or In The Hand.

I "chest carry" using an Air Marshall 3. I have a few shirts with a button missing for easier access.
Concealed carry holsters | Shoulder holsters, Gun holsters – Kangaroo Carry
Makes it easy to feign a heart a attack & present weapon . Majority of people will look for hands going to waist or pocket.

OWB and pocket.
Tried IWB about 15 years ago, and found it uncomfortable. I've lost 40 lbs since then then tho... Might try it again.

IWB year round, regardless of setting. Best balance of concealment, retention, and access for me. Regardless of your choice, satisfaction with the decision will likely be influenced by your chosen belt and holster combo, too. Choose wisely-my cellar has a large bin full of discarded holsters...

I carry AIWB or pocket/aiwb for my revolver during cold months with a coat.
I wear only a t shirt year round (outside belt) so this gives me total conceal ability, fast draw and great gun retention if needed.
I prefer Vedder kydex holsters (more adjustment settings) and carry at the 1 o’clock possition.
Both kydex holsters have sweat shields.

When the tag inside my pants read 32 - 36 IWB was easy and preferred.
I now have a Sweet IWB holster and gun... but the tag now reads 44 - 46.
My IWB days are over ... my middle overhang will not allow IWB any longer .
Hot and humid South ... Hiking shorts and pocket carry or OWB .
When cold ...back pocket of jeans or coat pocket carry or OWB .
Sad but True ... Age forces you to do things you realy don't want to do but an old guy's gotta survive .

I carry three different methods IWB, OWB and pocket. It all depends on the season and my dress for that particular day.
Summer; When in shorts with long shirt untucked I carry IWB.
Winter; with heaver clothing and cover garments I will carry OWB or in pants pocket.
Dress up event suit and tie; I'll carry on the inside pocket of sport coat or blazer. I haven't graduated to the shoulder holsters yet but working on it!!

I change up now and again, depending on circumstances. My first choice is OWB with a leather pancake, and spare mags on the weak side. Second choice is IWB (Stealth Gear Revolution), again with spare mags. Last choice is to switch to pocket carrying a revolver.

Whether IWB or OWB, I find both comfortable with a good leather holster and belt positioned at 3:30. Pocket if I'm carrying my snubby when I'm "not" carrying a gun.
Then it depends on what I'm wearing and if I need one or the other. OWB is a faster-draw and reholster, IWB conceals much better.

Around home here its the 3" 686+ in a Simply Rugged sourdough pancake on the right hip. In town it's the same gun in a Milt Sparks Summer Special 2 just behind the right hip with a t-shirt over it.
If it's an auto then the Glock 26 and 17 are both carried in a Milt Sparks SS2 also

IWB Appendix fan here in a soft holster. But I use a kinda unorthodox cant/position. Instead of almost vertical at 12 o clock it’s more like 115 ish with the butt canted down and out toward my watch pocket. Rides comfortable and keeps the muzzle sitting on angle in the crook of my pelvis and leg muscle area. For me this gives a smokin fast grab and draw.
Having it there gives me a more secure feeling since it highly unlikely anyone is going to be able to sneak up and grab it like could be done at another position. Add in the crowds scenario you can’t really get inadvertently bumped into and exposed at that position either, least it’s not an area on me that I’m going to let someone brush up against me even in a crowd. And when just standing there waiting etc I typically put my fingers into my front pockets which puts me at the quick draw position but doesn’t give a “poised for a fight” look to folks in general.
Throw in the robbery scenario and reaching into your pocket to give the bad guy your money puts you in the draw and shoot from the hip position without a big ol Telegraph reach to the side for your gun.
I know my style isn’t for everyone but wanted to give folks the up sides for appendix carry. The key for me is a soft holster and canting the butt toward the outside so it doesn’t dig into me and gives me a faster angular draw

IWB, in a DeSantis holster, because I'm in Florida and DeSantis is my governor.

I'm a big guy (~300#) so I carry OWB almost exclusively (unless it's in a shoulder rig when I'm riding in cold weather with overpants). I'm 110% RRT (Red River Tactical). I honestly don't think there's a better all around Kydex holster made. (I just ordered my 5th.) I'd love to be able to find a nice shoulder rig for the S&W but since I have both optics and a WL, that's just about impossible.
