Applied Jan 13th. They said so many are applying that it will take 120 to 160 days to process. I was surprised that I got it in less than 2 months

Welcome to the club
I have no doubt that more and more people are getting theirs. The range that I took my class at is just across the road from my house, a year ago they would have one maybe two classes a month. Now they have one and sometimes two classes a week, makes me feel good every time I hear 'em shootin.

Most excellent! For the first few weeks you will be very safe-then you may take it for granted--review safety! Take a look at how you are handling your pistol and make an effort to improve your safety posture. Do that periodicaly and you won't have an accident. Also-watch 'em at gun shows-all the macho-unsafe goofs that will point a gun at you.

Be dedicated and carry whenever you can. If you find yourself slacking, get a gun you can always carry.

florida received my application march 3 09.contacted them on may 15 09 and they said they where just starting january's applications. For some odd reason I got my finger print card back with an error on it may 17 09.Corrected the problem that day and put in the mail.On may 26 09 I called to verify they received my print card and was told they are now 6 weeks behind on opening the mail.Hopefully what I thought would take 60-90 days doesn't take 6 months. Is anyone else running into this problem?gunnut2

My Son and I applied last year. We were told it would take 120 days to receive license, we received them on day 120.

Countryboy: Let me warn you, Georgia does not "renew" anymore. Each and every time you go back in, it is just like the first time, a Money order, cash, plus you must have a certified copy of your Birth Certificate, and lots of patience. My fingerprint card was not clear enough to suit, so 5 weeks after making application, I got it back, told to get a new fingerprint card, and re submit. Did so, and 7 months after originally submitting, got my license. Advise you to go in at least 6 and maybe 8 weeks early, as it does take time now.
