I have been trying to figure why I am only trustworthy in certain areas, my values don't change by going into a post office or court house or on a school premise. What makes it possible for me to be trusted on the street but not in my bank? Personally I think it is B.S. and leaving a gun in the car is an invitation for theft. This subject always causes me to Rant and Rant and Rant. Is it just me?

What you should do BEFORE trying any carry method for the first
time, is to go to a "big-box" store, like Wal-Mart, and get something
of about the same size and shape of the carry method you want to try out. A cheap electronics device or camera case for example. Put in it
something legal, like a snack or a couple rolls of pennies. THEN,
go about your daily routine. If anyone should notice, you'll know you're not doing it right. Don't ask anyone if they can tell, just see if anyone
notices enough to respond. You'll find that NO-ONE WILL NOTICE.
If you hang around/work with, people who check you out, you've got
the perfect test, and a ready answer. You'll also find out if anyone
has a tendency to get intimate enough to be feeling your body.
If you're not willing to experiment, you won' carry, anyway.

I obey the CCW laws in Ohio.

I'm very well known for my vicious attitude toward cops who break the law. Why should I hold myself to a different standard than that to which I hold them? Is it wrong for a cop to unlawfully harass me for concealed or open carry, but it's right for me to break those same laws when it suits me?

Nobody has to like the law. They just have to obey it. If you don't like it, get it changed. If you can't get it changed, move. You don't see me living in Chicago bragging about how I carry illegally, then complaining when I get arrested.

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

That's what the highest man made law in this country says about the issue.

You print that out and go open carrying down State Street in Chicago at noon tomorrow. Who knows, if you actually fight your arrest rather than rolling over, you might get Chicago's gun ban overturned.

Cmort, just like you, I have no desire to be a test case. I don't go where my guns will get me in trougle if at all possible, so I stay out of Illinoying. I guess the point I want to make is this, if a person takes off their guns because they want to stay out of hot water with the authorities, even though the "law" they would be violating is unconstitutional and unjust, that's their decision and i can respect that. It's real easy to tell the other guy to put himself in hot water. On the flipside, the man who violates an unconstitutional law is doing nothing immoral, though his actions may have serious consequences. The immoral ones are the politicians who take an oath to defend the U.S. Constitution, then immediately turn around and pass unconstitutional laws one after another. Such actions are the epitome of lawlessness.

Rest assured, I do believe people have a moral imperative to obey constitutional laws, no matter how idiotic they may be.

My point is that I'm on record as wanting to fry cops who misbehave, without mercy. I can't honestly take that stance and then violate the law myself.

If I don't want cops to make up laws that prohibit open carry, or require you to notify when being told at gunpoint to shut up, I can't make up my own laws that say I can ignore gunbuster signs or carry into statutory CPZs.

One law for all. Bad cops and people who hate all cops don't believe in that. That's just not me.

Honestly you can't legally carry in my state even with a Permit.

Schools are no carry zones, universities are no carry zones, state, local and federal buildings are no carry zones. Bars are no carry zones, resturants which serve alcohol, I am not sure about.

Also Open carry is illegal and carrying your guns in a gun rack in a pickup is borderline accepted.

Frankly I carry ONLY when I KNOW I am not going any of these places.

Work is also a no carry zone by their policy. They would fire me and likely call the police if someone had a weapon. Our school and workplace policy forbids even pocket knives or any blade not provided for a work task.

Small point, but there is no such thing as an unconstitutional law. Until a court rules otherwise, all laws are constitutional regardless of what anyone thinks. That's how the system works in this country.

Technically, a law is neither until finally ruled on by the SCOTUS. This IS the "Achilles' heel" of our system and our would-be masters have used it to great effect.

i live in georgia and have had a GFL for 25+ years. i open carry 100% of the time all day every day. i do not carry where it is illegal, public bldgs, PO, sporting events, church and so forth. i do carry when dropping off or picking up my children at school as there is an exemption for GFL holders in a school zone.............................

Short of a metal detector or pat-down, it doesn't concern me. I stay away from those places or disarm. In the vast majority of circumstances, I avoid those places, period. If fish want to gather in a barrel, let them. I'll pass.

In Arizona the CC permit overrides the Federal 1000 ft. law. Every gun owner in AZ who doesn't have the CC permit breaks that law almost every day. If fact, if you live 999 ft. from a school and have your daddy's old duck gun in the attic, you're breaking the law. Stupid!

I am very pro concealed carry. In KS we have constitutional carry, but believe me I remember when we didn't. I know the cr** concealed carry licensees have to go through. Just because with my LEOSA permit and KS law I can carry almost anywhere do not think I don't feel your pain, because I do. I fought hard to get concealed carry passed in KS. My suggestion is petition your reps. & senators for constitutional carry. Get your state NRA & GOA offices to start a grassroots effort to get constitutional carry for your state. It is well worth the effort, and will help solve some of the problems you are facing.

There are a lot fewer CPZs in Ohio now than there used to be.

I can't carry INTO work, but it's ok for the gun to stay in the glove box.

When I worked second shift at the Cleveland Clinic main campus (a posted CPZ), I used to carry a boxcutter with me every night... which I used to open boxes every night. I would have been perfectly willing to open somebody's throat instead if the need had arisen

According to this article Ohio ccw law was amended in 2011 to allow carry in establishments that allow alcohol consumption.
