Default triple K magazine experience?

I was recently given a Beretta M950 Minx with a 950 Jetfire magazine. The only Minx mags I can find are Triple k. I know it's a S&W forum, but a lot of experience here, so.....

I recently bought a mag from them for an early Bersa 383 DA because they were my only source.
I smoothed the edges some with a file and it works just fine.
Not the best quality but if it's all there is...?

Original mags for the 950 series pistols are not hard to find. Look on GB or ebay if allowed. My experiences with KKK have not been good.

My experience with Triple K is 50/50. But after awhile I determined to track down factory mags for Beretta and Walter pistols which proved very pricy but satisfying in the long run.

I bought four For a High Standard and all worked fine. I bought a couple for a Colt 38 special and was disappointed. They need to be stiffer. Nothing works like a factory mag.

I have purchased 2 in 48 years, and would never purchase another! The first was a magazine for a 1911. I loaded it with 7 rounds, and the compressed spring pushed the floor plate off the magazine body. The second was a magazine for a Mauser HSc, purchased 4 years ago. I had hoped their quality improved. Unfortunately, the magazine for the Mauser was too thick and bound up in the frame. Personally, I would never purchase another Triple K magazine again!

My experience is similar. They work in some guns, and they don’t work in others.

I might take a chance and get a couple for a gun if there was no other viable choice, but I wouldn’t get my hopes too high.

I have considerable experience with Triple K. Their older American made magazines are usually at least decent. Their newer imported stuff are somewhere between horrid and useless. Obviously factory original is the way to go if possible.

For .25 not so much for .22 short, which is why I suspect there was a 950 jetfire mag in a 950 minx. Thanks anyway

The only after market supplier I have found that makes consistently good magazines is Mec-Gar. Everyone else, Triple K, Promag, USA, etc is a **** shoot.

Default Triple K bad news - MecGar ok for Luger at least

Old Browning Buckmark slab-side 22LR, had only 1 factory mag, wanted some more for kids to use plinking, etc. Three attempts with Triple K...all no good. 1st one wouldn't hold open after last shot, they had me send it back (my cost postage), 2nd one..exactly same thing. Called and photographed the mag lips (factory vs theirs)...same solution...sent it back (my cost again), sent the third one, still a piece of junk! Gave it away.

Figured they couldn't go wrong with a Colt Woodsman, had two original factory mags but didn't want to use them for shooting as keeping them for the boxed originality. Tried Triple K again but alas...same junk as for the Browning. Gave that one away too.

For my all original WWII Mauser Luger, "Black Widow" 41byf, the mags with genuine waffenamp stamps (eagle fxo) are very expensive and the wood ones aren't correct so I tried MecGar and dang, worked absolutely great.

MecGar was also great for cheap GI replacements for my Argentine systema Colt 1911A1, that had a close numbers matching floorplate, so again, needed a simple replacement in order to shoot and preserve the original.

So........Triple K....worthless...just like the song "worthless" in the old cartoon movie Brave Little Toaster..only the line "Once took a Texan to a wedding" modified to read "Once took a customer to the cleaners".

Not a Triple K fan! I have bought a few for vintage pistols that did not have original magazines as part of the sale. A few worked and a few were horrible. I guess their QC is not good. They are cheaply made, thin and not finished very well. I got rid of almost all of them except one that does seem to work 100%. I would not suggest buying triple K unless you are bored and need something to complain about and have to return.

I picked up a half dozen for my Combat Master- they don't function 100% like the factory mag does.

Default I bought some for my Colt 1903 pocket hammerless guns.

They were the only option available. They work fine in those guns.

Triple K magazines are for the times when there is no other source of magazines for vintage pistols for which factory magazines are no longer available.

Like Pro Mag, Triple K magazine reliability is poor.

Pro Mag and Triple K both tend to have soft magazine lips. If you get one to work, it won’t work for long.

I totally agree that Triple K Magazine leave a lot to be desired.

However folks are purchasing these magazines because the company is still in business

I think companies like Triple K and ProMag stay in business because they offer magazines at a price point that is below that of factory or quality aftermarket magazines. Basically, they are for those who look at the price tag, not the quality of the product, or for those who are desperate and cannot find a suitable factory or high quality aftermarket magazine. Unfortunately, you do get what you pay for and when you buy cheap, you get cheap.

I have tried them a handful of times in the last 40 years. Each and EVERY time, the above describes what they wound up being used for if not thrown in the trash bin.

Absolute garbage.
