I've got a Kimber with a rail that seems to be begging for a light or a light / laser combo. This won't be an everyday carry gun, maybe a house gun. What do you guys use and like?
Thanks

Hi, I have a Springfield Armory XD 40 with an Insight X2 laser/light combo. I have it for home defense it works great.

The only thing is that when the laser is on it will only function when the light is turned on as well. The light is suprisingly bright. I found it for $159. The controls are easy to reach as well.

My SW 1911 w/tac rail has an Insight Pyrocon on it and I also have a Safariland RLS which is really nice as you can use it for a carry light. The Springfield Armory on-line shop has the RLS on sale for $65 which is a deal as I checked Brownells and even with my discount it was over $90.

I mostly use a light alongside whatever handgun I'm using. I need to point a light at things a lot more often than I need to point a gun at them, so I see value in having the two separate.

For a housegun, though, I've got a Sigma set up with a cheapie light (an expensive one just wouldn't seem right on the Sigma).
