Just recently purchased a 637, my first S&W, and wanting a good IWB holster for it. Any suggestions. I would like to order one and get it right away, not much on waiting. Thanks and appreciate the info. Another questions also, when the cylinder come down, there is the number 637-2, what does the 2 refer to? Not real familiar with the S&W, but like this one so far. Thanks.

Welcome to the Forum Fathergoose1.
The -2 stands for the second engineering change to the Model 637. The second engineering change for the 637 was the introduction of the internal key lock system.
Regarding IWB holsters: I use a Kramer IWB#2 for my 637.

For your 637-2 and IWB carry I would recommend that the holster feature a shield between the body and the hammer (those hammers can poke some mean little holes in your skin).
Carry position can be difficult for some. I cannot wear a revolver IWB in the strong-side position with my build. I prefer the appendix-carry position, which limits garment selection to things that can be worn draped over the belt-line. Also, for appendix carry I recommend a holster with little or no cant (carry angle).
IWB holsters with the belt attachment (clip or strap) located over the cylinder area cause an extended bulge out from the belt at that point. I recommend that the belt attachment be offset to the sides.
Forum members Sideguard Holsters (SGi, I think, on the forum) and Bell Charter Oak Leather (oldflatfoot) both offer a good selection of IWB's for your revolver with excellent designs and top-quality workmanship.
I also make IWB's, so if interested please click on my username to display my e-mail address and contact me. I will respond with photos and information.

I have the same gun and also like to carry it in an IWB holster, appendix carry, with a skin shield.
A caveat: Be careful of which solvents you use when you clean this gun. Some cleaners can flake the finish.

I have Side Guard IWB for a model 60-3" barrel Its a well made hoster Recommended highly.
I also have mika's IWB's for my 642 and 12. They are less money and they work but they are more difficult to reholster with.

+1 on the sideguard holster. I don't actually have mine yet(am anxiously awaiting its arrival). I know it will be worth the wait.

That is a 2.5" Bulldog 44 special in there.
637 with CT grips fits perfectly

I wish I could help you as I carry a 637 most days. I carry OWB though. I bought a Bianchi 57 and it is pretty well invisible even under a t-shirt.

Zombie thread.
In case it was revived because someone else has this question, here's a link to a post of mine from a recent, similar thread:

Try the Don Hume IWB. Solid holster at a reasonable price.

DeSantis® Cozy Partner™ is what I use as a IWB holster for my four J frames. Very comfortable @ 4 o'clock.
