It would appear that that Wyoming is going to rescind 14 states as of 1 March 2009 that do not adhere to the WY CCW law.
The 14 states evidently do not exclude drug convictions (felony or misdemeanor) for denying CCW as WY does.
"Accordingly, as of March 1, 2009, Wyoming can only honor concealed firearm permits issued by the following states: Connecticut, Ohio, Georgia, Oklahoma, Maryland, Oregon, Massachusetts and Utah."
I will try to find out more info in this matter as I know it will affect most travelers except for current and retired LEOs.

I hate all those pissy little differences in the various CCW laws!
Sad too how reciprocity will then be denied to the good folks from Wyoming traveling in all those states that Wyoming is getting ready to deny.
You'll still be fine in my state of Georgia (as I will be in yours) of course.
I've got the same problem with South Carolina on this side of the country. Their requirements are more detailed than ours, yet my qualifications would get me instantly approved if I lived in SC. However, since GA doesn't require the extra qualifications I possess to get my GA license, SC won't allow me to carry there.
Crazy, pissy stuff that separates and divided the good guys . . . when we're all certified in our own states as being "OK." Crazy!
T.
PS: Maybe someday there will be an option in the "free" states to get an "enhanced" license that fully meets ALL the most detailed requirements of all the various states . . . and thus have a universal CCW carry license in all the free states. This would be nice!!!

I have never been to that state, but if that will happen, guess I will never visit it.
Even worse, if you have not seen it, there is an idiot Rep. from IL. that has sponsored HR 45 to make us register all guns, failure to do, would make us a felon, and lots of other things in the bill would make us a felon! Write write your US Congressmen on this bill!

The WY AG has backed down and has put the previous 22 states they had reciprocity with back up on his site. They are going to look at it again. So there is no change coming in WY reciprocity come March 1st. There could be changes in the future so stay tuned. But as of now they will not change their reciprocity list.

I just got an E-mail today from Rocky Mountain Gun Owners that says Wyoming backed off on that issue.

Wow, glad I saw this. Oregon permits are honored in Wyoming. Now, if I can just refrain from shooting someone while I motorcycle through Idaho and Montana, I'll be ok.
I can't understand why we can't have reciprocity in all the states with the exception of CA and NY, where they've had severe outbreaks of Cranial-rectosis, an often fatal condition.

That's why God invented the ankle holster, for while you were riding your bike, the leather vest inside pocket was his too. J-frame AirLites and even AirWeights are great for that.
