I was browsing one of the new gun rags yesterday at the market and saw an article on N-frame pocket carry by Clint Smith. Now I love Clint's articles, insight and such but an N-frame? Holy Cow!
Anybody else out there with the pockets and belt to pull this off?

There are some snubbies that probably could be pocket carried, ie 625, 327. Lightweight versions.

Sure...it can be done...But what you can do in a still picure in front of or bathroom mirror is one thing....or with super giant cargo pockets...but walking around it with it all day in an actual pair of pants you wouldn't mind being seen is, is something entirely different.

I don't do it, but shouldn't be a problem with one of the newer alloy frame N's. Those don't weigh any more than a G26/27 and I carried one of those regularly.
Back in the 1930s, when men were actually shorter and lighter than today, there were guys who carried chopped 1917s, New Services, what not in their pocket as a hide out gun. They wore wool pants back then, the dressier versions of which wouldn't look too strange to wear today since men's styles don't change all that much.
Largest/heaviest gun that I've pocketed is a P229R.
If you're going to tote a really heavy gun, you might want to invest in a rigger's type belt from Specter or a similar company.

I am an N frame CC holster carry guy.
The trick is to us a SERIOUS BELT,
Stiff & Thick.
I use a Kramer Horse Hide Belt but there are many others out there.
Pocket Carry....No.

I just put money down on a 2 1/2" 629 yesterday... with proper grips this would be a candidate for pocket carry.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm "Hot Pockets"

I carry my 629, 2 1/2" in a leather vest inner pocket, and its comfortable and easy to get to. Also in a belt holster at times.......my 629 weighs 32 ounces, and it doesnt bother me to carry it. One thing for sure, I will never be accused of being "under gunned"!!!
