I recently purchased two "Minimal Clip" Side Guard Holsters with the "Security Clips" - one for the J Frame and one for the Glock 26. Here's a pic:
The Minimal Clip is made from medium cut, rigged leather formed to the specific gun for which it is made. I carry AIWB and I find this combination is excellent - providing good concealment and good retention while still providing a smooth draw that's not too "grippy" like some leather holsters. The medium thickness of the leather fits well for IWB carry - not too thick - but thick enough to do the job.
I originally ordered these holsters with the "Standard Clip" - and liked the holsters but the clip did not work well for me with my thick shark belt that I wear for CCW. Erik (the owner) suggested I get the "Security Clip" instead - which is like a reverse J clip that goes over the belt and is very secure. The Security Clip is similar (or the same) as the clip used by Highnoon Holster on many of their IWB holsters. Erik changed out the holsters at no cost to me.
The Minimal Clip's hold the gun at an effective height above the belt. Some holsters have a low height - maximizing concealment while sacrificing ease of draw (especially when drawing on the move) - while others have a relatively high hold - providing better "draw-ability" but at the cost of more pronounced printing. The Minimal Clip seems to find a happy medium between the two.
One nice detail of the J Frame hostler is that the clip is offset from the cylinder. This feature effectively made the profile thinner - which is nice for IWB carry.
I took our Great Dane for a five mile walk yesterday with my G26 in the Minimal Clip. Very comfortable and it's an "all day" gun/holster combo.
The choice of holsters is a very personal thing based on body type, dress, etc. What works for me may not work for you. For me, these are very reasonably priced, custom-made holsters that fit me and my use very well.
