Question IWB holster for SW40VE?

I'm looking to carry my SW40VE, but I want an IWB holster for it.

I'm thinking I'll carry it around 1 to 2 o'clock or 4 to 5 o'clock.

Any sugestions on a brand would be very much appreciated!

I have a Kholster for my SW40VE and absolutely love it. The mix of leather and Kydex offers great comfort and security. The leather makes it a comfort to wear close to the body and the Kydex is molded specifically to the SW40VE which helps keep the sidearm secure. It goes on just before my shoes each morning and comes off just before my shoes at night.

As a tuckable IWB, the concealment is fantastic and I can wear it with my work-shirts (sometimes polos, sometimes full front button w/ collar) and either jeans or khakis. On off days, it works just a well with a sweatshirt, flannels, or just a T-shirt - tucked or untucked.

I like strong-side at about 4:30ish.

Since getting my Kholster, I haven't carried my .380 or .25 as I can conceal with comfort just as easily my SW40VE. All the comfort and concealment with better bang and more rounds at the ready. A win-win in my book.

Ditto on the Kholster. I carry my SW40GVE in a Kholster every day in the 4-4:30 position. Simply an amazing holster, and the Kydex is nice because unlike a lot of IWB holsters, it retains it's shape and permits one-handed reholstering with no problem.

Check them out: http://www.kholster.com/

They come with a 90 Day Unconditional No Strings Guarantee as well as a Limited Lifetime Warranty. If you decide to order one and use this code: 335093, you will get a 10% discount.

Hey thanks for the suggestion. Do you like the full moon or crescent? Also, do you need to buy extra clips or does it come with two?

Never mind about the clips.... I saw the answe on the site.

How convenient! I was looking for a holster for my 40VE as well. I'll have to check both of these holsters out.

I carry my SW40VE in a Crossbreed Supertuck. I enjoy it. Carries well, and doesn't hinder me in any way. Regardless of the holster you choose, be sure to get a good gunbelt. That makes all the difference!

Some holsters meant for XDs will work fine for Sigmas. A friend had gotten rid of his XD and gave me an OWB holster left over. Fits the Sigma 40VE that I have perfectly.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, Chad. I have the crescent for mine. I covers the entire gun; barrel, slide, and grip. Here are a couple of pics so you can see how well it fits,

Outside:

And inside. You can see how the leather has "form fitted" after a few months of use:

Very comfortable, very concealable, very secure, and very easy to draw from and reholster.

I carry a Glock 23 in this holster:

http://www.fist-inc.com/holsters/k1/K7.htm

I decided to upgrade and I bought an MTac Minotaur like this:

http://www.comp-tac.com/product_info.php?products_id=95

The MTac is in the holster box and the Glock is in the Fist holster again. I never even wore the $80 Minotaur out of the house. All kydex is thinner and conceals better. Striker fired pistols tend to be a little harder to conceal than hammer fired because of the shape of the back of the slide. Every little bit of thinness in the holster works to your advantage. You won't find a thinner holster than the Fist.

About 3 days. I believe Jimmy's normal turn-around is less than a week.

thanks. I just got mine but it does not cove the whole gun like yours, the barrel sticks out about 1 - 11/2 inches. Not sure why, i am not even sure I care. I still have to figer out placement and then see if it bothers me.

I tried about 3 different positions with the belt clips before I found what I liked the best. I suggest choosing a belt clip position that allows the opening in the Kydex to be slightly above the belt so as to facilitate easy, one-handed reholstering. I wear mine at approximately 4:30 on my strong side. I can draw and reholster with either hand from this position and it also hides real well. If you have any questions, just ask. I've been using mine since February nearly every day. Liked it so well, I got 3 others for a few other guns.

Mine is the same way. I noticed in cshoff's photo that the barrel did not extend past the leather. On mine, the barrel extends just beyond the limits of the leather when seated in the kydex - but only by about 3/4 of an inch or so. Never been a comfort issue, however, and I don't have a problem with that at all.

I like the crossbreed holster fits well, comfortable, safe and very tough.
I honestly cant think of a thing I would like to try the J hook clip.

I know this is an old thread but it seems like the right place for it. Anyway i was wondering if any one on here rides a motorcycle especially a sportbike and if this has affected your choice or carry position. I suspect about 4:30ish but being slightly bent foward it may show...not sure just looking to see whats said

when I carry I use an IWB and love it. I actually carry mine all day from when I leave the house to when I get home from work. and no one knows I am carrying because my holster is hidden so well. I got mine at Gold Star Holsters and it is actually customized too. they did such a great job making it exactly how I wanted it. go check out their website and look around on it and see if find anything you like.
