Mika holsters....
Has anyone heard from Bob? I have an order with him for a while now and sent a few emails and left him a voice mail. No response. Hope everything is OK.

I ordered in early March. At the time his web site said there was a 12 week wait. Look like it's going to go well beyond that. Fortunately I only ordered one of his reasonably priced pocket holsters. If it had been something pricey and my charge card was hit the same day like it was, I'd probably be a lot unhappier. I hear good things about his holsters, so hopefully it will be worth the wait.

I ordered both a round and a square cut back in January as well. Finally decided to call him last week, gave him my name etc and he said they would go out that day. Sure enough, a couple days later they arrived...

Best pocket holster there is IMHO. Well worth the wait and the price. He's a one man operation so bear with him. You won't be disappointed.

When was the textured strip added to Mika's holsters? I've had mine for about 10 years and carry my Mod.38 in it every day. It dosn't have the no-skid strip and has never come out with the gun in practice sessions.

I'm not sure when it was added. I've had mine for two years and it came with the band then.

I have a Mika's holster for my 642 that doesn't get used any more. 1 year old, probably carried a couple dozen times.
If someone wants it, shoot me a PM and we can work something out. SOLD

I emailed him yesterday about the holster I ordered back in March (approx 19 weeks ago ), and Mika emailed me back with an hour with the news that he was shipping it this week.
Other people have reported the same kind of thing, it's almost like you have to ask him before he sends it to you.
Either way, I'm looking forward to getting it in a few days

It's a fine pocket holster, originally introduced to the Forum by brother member Erich. Mine is 3+ years old, has the traction band, is a round cut. And I wouldn't let it go as long as I owned a J frame! It's my "most used".

Best pocket holster on the planet.
Well worth the wait, too!

I finally received my pocket holster from Mika yesterday. It is a very well built holster, and is definitely well worth the price he charges. I'm not sure how comfortable front pocket carry can ever be, but I think that this holster will make it as comfortable as possible.
For anyone considering buying one, I would offer the following:
1.) The hit to your credit card is as soon as you place your order.
2.) The wait for these holsters has gotten really long. I ordered my approximately 21 weeks before I received it.
3.) They are easily worth the money, and if you've ever considered pocket carry, buy one of these holsters.
4.) Mika seems like a nice guy, but I get the impression he is reaching the point of overwhelmed.
Bottom line, don't hesitate to buy one of Mika's holsters.

Mr44spl,
Thanks for a small bit of reassurance. I ordered my Mika back in Feb. and am still waiting. Has been six months this week. Have emailed him twice and both times he was most gracious and assured me my holster would be shipped the following week. I am still waiting patiently for the following week to get here. The last one was over three weeks ago. But I will continue to wait patiently because of such high reviews and he does seem to be a very gracious gentleman. I feel sure he has noble intentions for all his customer orders.
Regards,
Howard

Good to see Mr. Mika is busier than ever. I own three of his holsters and they're my favorite pocket holsters. I've tried Kramer and DeSantis Nemesis as well...
Mika story... I ordered a holster from him and the estimated wait was maybe 6 weeks. Well, about 8 weeks went by and no holster, so I e-mailed him. He could have swore he sent it a couple weeks prior but I never received it. Turns out it fell out of a bag in the trunk of his police cruiser and was out of sight.
He felt bad about the miscue and didn't even charge me for the holster.
Great guy and a good businessman to boot.

Ordered three of his holsters in March. Got them today. As noted by others the credit card hit occurs when the order is placed. The holsters seem to be well built and I look forward to using them. Based on feedback from many others I'm confident my patience will be rewarded. ( I must be getting old. My mother would have never believed I would ever say anything like that!) As an aside, I really like to see a one man operation like this succeed.

Just in case another reassurance is needed, mine arrived two days ago. I had ordered it about four months back. Sent an email to Mika about a week before I received to be sure he hadn't forgotten me. My guess is he just had short spell where he couldn't get to the sheaths and as busy as he is, that put him back a ways. But he is sending them out now if the posts here are any indication.

I received mine today and all I can say is "WOW!" A huge improvement over the DeSantis Nemesis I've been using temporarily with my 642. The Nemesis always wanted to come out of my pocket with the gun. Not a problem with the Mika. Of course, time will tell how I'll like it in the long run but first impression is A+.

I received my order from Mr. Mika and am very well pleased. Long wait for sure, but for the money you cannot beat it.
Regards to all.

You're welcome. After a month or two of use, the holster will "mold" to the gun and your pocket and become even better than when new. Give one a try. I think you'll like it.
