Utah CCW backlog now 4 months...
Just got an E-mail from BCI Firearms Division in Utah regarding the backlog:
"Due to the vast increase of applications coming into our office we are unable to do status checks at this time. It is taking about 30 days to process payment and about 90 days from the day we process your payment to process your application.
Thank you for your patience"
WOW! Maybe that's just for us out-of-staters?

3+ month wait here in Florida. State had to hire 68 new workers to process all the applications since the election and they still can't get them out under the 3 month max mandated by state law. Wonder why the president isn't taking credit for these new jobs he created?

I had to wait that long in NM for my CHL and that was before the Demo's got control. It was worth the wait.....

There's an ad in the Buffalo News for a "Utah" pistol permit course. Not sure who is putting on the "class", but they were charging a boatload of money for it.

Maybe they are trying to create some "space"...They said about 30 days to process payment, & now I notice they charged my credit card yesterday...only 9 days from the date they should have received it.

I just took the Utah CHL class in Syracuse, NY. It was put on by www.safeinrochester.com Cost was $85, included photo, fingerprints, notary and paperwork needed.
I also noticed an ad by www.nafionline.com offering the Utah class. I think the cost was a little more.

Permit Wait
AZ in backed up too. Last Oct., the wait was 10-14 days. Now it's two months. My classes are larger than normal.

Wow, glad I got mine 2 years ago, took about 3 weeks to get my certificate after the class and less than a month to get my license after I went to the sheriffs office.

I'm beginning to feel oddly comforted by reports like this. And ammo shortages. And record level handgun/shotgun imports. And, well? You get the idea!
Funny how so much "good news" is actually being obscured by what's sometimes known as "bad news"? This long a continuing sustained run, makes me feel better each day it continues!

Ditto for Louisiana- the 5 day turnaround is now about 3-4 months. The department went from three people to over 50 since the election-the stimulus apparently is working
