Need help with concealment
I have a MP40 and DeSantis Tuck-This II. Being a large guy with a 46" waist, I'm having a hard time carring comfortably without the weight of the MP40 weighting down my pants. Any suggestions?
This is the holster: Commerce Storefront B2C

First of all you need a dedicated "gun belt" to spread the weight a bit if you don't already have one.
With the holster you are using, you have a lot of weight hangin' in one spot on your belt.
You might want to investigate one with the loop attachments offset from the gun pouch. This will spread the weight even more and will make for a thinner configuration on your waist.
Then move your magazine carrier to the other side of your waist to balance things out a bit. As it is, you may have to switch hands to access your spare mag, and then switch back to load it in your gun. That can get a bit sticky if you are in a hurry and under pressure.
If all else fails, do like I do and get yourself a pair of suspenders that hook to your belt.

Oh yeah, I don't carry a spare clip. Will a gun belt really make a difference?

I've been using the original Tuck-This with the M&P40c (and am also a pretty big guy), it it definitely alot of weight on one point, but a thicker belt may help. The design of the J-clip/hook puts the weight on the pants themselves more than the belt, but since the belt holds up the pants it makes sense. Personally I've always worn thick belts even without carrying.
A problem I have seen is the gun flopping down when dropping or pulling up my pants. Has this been remedied with the Tuck-This II?

IMO a good belt makes a bigger difference than a good holster.

I'll echo what the others have said, the belt makes all the difference in the world. With that being said it would be money well spend to get a leather holster for carry. The nylon holsters are great for storage and trips to the range, but for carry spend the extra money on a nice leather rig. It will pay off in spades, you have a nice firearm...spend the money for a nice carry system.
Cheers,
Sam

A decent belt will help tremendously, and if that's not enough a good pair of suspenders will cure all. With a good belt and suspenders, I believe you could comfortably carry something the size and weight of a concrete block!

A well made belt makes a huge difference in comfort while carrying any handgun, especially the larger and heavier models. I recommend 9-10 oz. cowhide, which is very sturdy, will not sag or droop under the weight, and can be worn very comfortably because it doesn't require tightening to an uncomfortable degree to do the job.
For most applications a 1.5" belt width works very well. Check your trousers before purchasing a belt and make sure that the belt loops will accept the width you are buying. Many slacks and casual trousers have belt loops that will not take any belt more than about 1.25" width.
Also, belt length is very seldom the same as trouser waist size. Measure a belt you are now using from tip of buckle to the tongue hole now in use (usually 2 or 3" longer than trouser waist size). And for IWB carry keep in mind that you will need about 2" longer belt length to go around that holstered handgun.
Wide and thick belts, and especially large buckles, are uncomfortable for me at the belly area. I taper my belts down to 1" width at the front and use lower-profile buckles than some others offer.
Hope this helps you.

After looking at the pic of that holster I don't think there is much hope for using it. I carried inside the pants for many years from age 19 until my mid 30's. I was always lean and had a waist about 32, then 34, then 36, but once I got to 38 I could no longer carry IWB comfortably all day.
Scrap the IWB idea and get a good gun belt and an outside the belt holster like a Kramer or other quality holster. IWB carry is for young, fit guys.
Try an outside the belt mag pouch to balance things. Sometimes love handles can make that uncomfortable. I carry an extra mag in the cargo pocket of my pants on my left leg.

I'll echo what TN Dave said - unfortunately, gravity works and as you age, those rock hard abs and chest muscles start drifting south making IWB carry impossible or uncomfortable for us gray hairs. I've gone to almost exclusively using pocket carry with Air Weight J frames. For a belt, I like the Wilderness Frequent Flyer Belt, or one from Looper Law Enforcement (leather with a kydex stiffener). My pocket carry holsters are either an Uncle Mike's #3 or a DeSantis Nemesis. On the few times I carry OWB I use a DeSantis Speed Scabbard.
Best of luck,
Dave

A 46" waist huh? Pants droopin'?
As a fellow member of the "46 Club" I've learned that a GUN belt is pretty manditory even without a Roscoe hangin' on it!
I've gone to "plain" tan and a black 1 1/2" gun belts and the difference is HUGE (pardon the pun)! Get a couple of good gun belts in your favorite flavors and see what you've been missing.
DITTO . . .
I once could carry 5" 1911's and N frames when I was thinner. Today, they want to bulge outward at their tops and it just doesn't work.
As another mentioned, I too am mainly going CCW with an Airweight J frame snubbie, in an Uncle Mike's #3 pocket holster . . . though the Nemesis is also great. Both are cheap too!
Combined with my belts made to support the weight of the guns to counteract the natural tendency of the gut to push the pants down, the results are quite pleasing and comfortable.
BTW, I'm also fine carrying my 2 1/2" and 3" .357 K-Frames in belt holsters with the belt too, as well as a lightweight officer's type Kimber 1911.
Heavier guns, such as my high capacity steel 1911 are NOT that comfortable and satisfactory!!!
Again, you truly cannot imagine how a 1 1/2" gun belt will make!
Hope this helps,
T.

I just ordered a belt and holster from Ray at Lobogunleather. He makes a belt and/or holster for the belt. Also will give you a discount on the belt and holster if ordered together. The reason I tried him was due to the fact that he has been there and done that. I am sure I won't be disappointed.

I think custom beats mass produced any day of the week. Ray's work is frequently seen on this forum and I've never seen a negative comment. His website shows products that are custom made at very competitive prices. When I have some money freed up I'm going to contact him about some of leather good needs.
Regards,
Dave
