Then I will send all my S&W revolvers for warranty work: "Please replace frame with non-lock version."

Well, have you had ILIF or not? I don't see where expressing your fears or concerns serves any useful purpose in this particular thread. Comments are irrelevant.

I have a new 642 with the Crimson Trace Grips. I just Emailed S & W yesterday asking how I could get the frame without the internal lock. We'll see if I get a response. I'll let you know.

Further I read the article referred to and, a bit smugly I guess, figured all this lock malfunction stuff was just people complaining about a non-existent problem.

Then, three weeks ago, in one of the Concealed Carry classes I teach on weekends, a lady had a Taurus with a lock that locked as we were firing it, never to work again. In a self defense situation, the little snubbie was now just a rock.

OK, it wasn't a Smith. But, if it could happen for some reason absolutely unrelated to the shooter with a Taurus, it could happen with a Smith.

I converted on the spot. Never will any self defense gun I own have an internal lock.

Does that sound like a rational or irrational (emotional) response?

What's the matter, Rdak? Are you some kind of 'tattle-tale'?

Can't you STAND a difference of opinion on anything? Is this a forum or not? Or is this some kind of 'politically correct' affiliation only? Which is it?

And where the heck do you get to prompt the owner what to do in ANY SITUATION! The gall of your 'cute' little comment is 'sickening'.

Ted: Huh?

I don't like the internal locks but I have a few that do have the locks.

It would be nice to have S&W go back to no locks so there is no chance of failure while firing.

It won't keep me from buying a S&W but I'd like them to stop making the frames with an internal lock.

If I want to ask Parabellum a question, I'll ask Parabellum a question.

If Parabellum doesn't want me to ask him questions, Parabellum can tell me he doesn't want me to ask him questions. Duh!

Oh btw, I remove the flags also. It's worked so far.

Description I had a problem with the lock self-engaging under recoil I was shooting 240 PMCs and 300 hornady loads on a cool, dry day. The gun was working somewhere around 40 rounds total on the odometer when the ILIF occurred.

Confirmation: looked closely, I could see the locking mechanism (flag) sticking up next to the hammer.

Corrective Action: I was able to wiggle the hammer and push it down. At that time it popped back into place and the action was free again. I then used the key to test the lock and it worked with the key.

letter/e-mail sent to Smith and Wesson No response thus far.

I had the exact same thing happen with my 329PD. Never again though, as the lock is now disabled!

RDak-

So stick to the subject. I think very few like the locks, including me.

My objection is that you were trying, with your little 'birdie', to prompt the Administrator to toss me from the forum.

I'm done with this thread.

Have a nice day!

Absolutely no way am I attempting to toss you from the forum.

I hadn't even read your posts, just read Parabellum's updates.

You got the wrong impression. Sorry!

Actually Ted, it was your comments on the Ruger LCP thread that prompted me to consider tossing you from the forum. It wasn't until I saw your comments here that asked the other mods and admins to keep an eye on your contributions.

Cool it!
