She was born on Halloween, at 8 weeks she was Karli's best ever Christmas gift, today she was laid to rest...on 4th of July! Heck of a holiday dog.

Gracee/Goober-Slobber did not stay long enough. Just two and a half years. But she was the best dang dog either Karli or I ever had the privilege of knowing.

We miss her so much it's beyond our understanding how much we loved this dog.

We buried her at the range. After all, she's been our "Range Dog" since she was a pup. We will place her weather vane on her grave (near the 50 yard bench) so she can keep us shooters aware of the wind.

All this so soon because some time ago she inhaled a weed seed, piece of grass or the like.

It's going to be tough for a while.

Bob

My sympathy and prayers for you and your beautiful companion.
Been there myself, and it's not easy.
Try and find it in your heart to go and rescue one from the local humane society, it will ease the hurt.

That's the pits. So sorry for your loss. It is bad enough when they live a full natural lifespan.

It has has been said that one will catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. While this is true, it is also irrelevant. The goal is not to catch them, but kill them. Neither honey nor vinegar will achieve this. Aerial spraying of Malathion, however, will.

Bob -

Sorry for your loss. We've been there a couple of times and understand. The pain gradually subsides but the wonderful memories remain.

Get another one ASAP.

- Jim

Kathy and I extend our deepest sympathies to you and Karli. We know that the anguish is unimaginable, and we are very sorry to hear about the loss of a beloved family mamber.

We both pray that the grief you two are feeling will start to ebb in the coming months.

Gracee will leave a permanent hole in your lives, but that's a good thing in a way for that just proves how special she was. You'll no doubt see her again one day.

Our animal family members are our best teachers. They just laugh it off and say throw that ball again. We could learn lots from them. I feel your grief, may Peace be with you.

So sorry to hear of your loss Bob. We've been there a few times and it's so tough I can't describe it.

Our chocolate lab Mindy goes in for surgery this Tuesday to remove a growth in her chest. She's only a bit past 3 so we're obviously concerned. Please say a prayer for my "Brown Bomber".

Awww, that's so sad. I'm sorry to hear of this. I have two dogs and I just don't know if I'm going to be able to take it when their time comes. Frowner

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, as I understand how attached we become. I've had problems with dogs and foxtail seeds in our area.

Thanks everyone. We "planted" her weather vane and some wild flowers on her grave this afternoon. My wife is really shook.

Gracee was her dog.

As suggested, we are staying busy and will meet friends this evening to celebrate the 4th.

I'm mowing and Karli's cleaning out the blackberry bushes.

We've known this was coming for three days now. It's been pretty tough.

You folks are terrific!

Bob

You have all my sympathy. I lost my Mexican beagle, Pepe, a month and a half ago; it's better, but it's still raw.
