I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. We have a poddle we got when he was 5 weeks old.
He is now 13 years old.

I don't know what we will do when something happens to him.

Again, sorry for your loss. Frowner

You folks are the best. I have shared Gracee stories and photos with you and thought some of you might want to know about her passing...never did I expect such an outpouring of kindness from ALL you folks. Our friends.

It's never easy, but part of having dogs. One of our Mastiffs, Maxim, died June 7, he would have been six in September. Several weeks before he had been diagnosed with IMHA, a disease of the immune system. Our vet thought we had it beat, but it roared back and took him without warning.

On a brighter note, or breeder came into Dallas today for a weekend dog show and brought us Jones, a 12 week old Mastiff. He won't replace Maxim, but we are thrilled to have him and Vickers needs a playmate.

My thoughts are with you, Bob.

I am so sorry for your loss. We are dog people, have 3 now. There's just no other animal on the planet that will love us like dogs do. We have a 9 month old blue Great Dane female named Gracie who has quickly become a member of our family. I would like to ask you to say a little more about what happened to your Gracee if it's not too painful. Our Gracie has allergies to some grass and she gets a rash on her lip areas from smelling the grass. Again, sorry for your loss.

My eyes sweated more for my lost dogs than I did for my Grandparents. And I really loved my Grandparents. It's hard to figure out sometimes. We sure do get attached to our pets (family members).

We usually go out and get another one to help ease the emotional pain. You'll have fond memories of Gracee.

How sad. I feel bad for you and your wife, and know what it is like to lose a beloved pet prematurely. It would be a good idea to make an addition to your family, not to replace Gracie, for she will remain in your memories, but to celebrate the circle of life.

My condolences. Loosing a pet, especially under such unexpected circumstances, breaks your heart, but it will mend in time. I had to have my 6 year old Dachshund "Scout" put down four years ago on September 11. We were crushed. We have had "Squirt" our Boston Terrier for about 10 months. Like all puppies, she is a pleasure most of the time, and makes us smile and laugh every day. I don't know what we did for all those years without a pet. It was pretty quiet and gloomy around here. My advice would be not to wait as long as we did. Heed the advice of my 8 year old grandson who told my wife during our dry spell, "Nanna, this house needs a dog!"

Sorry to hear of your loss. I have spent my life caring for critters of one kind or another.

It just plain hurts to lose a real and unquestioning friend.

I feel your pain.
