I got called on Saturday right after I plugged my phone back in, my boss wanted me to work 10-6 on Monday. Nobody else was able to work, I show up at 945 and go into my office, and find two bigwigs from Madison working, doing some disciplinay investigation.

I find another office to work in, start checking my e mail, nothing important, check my regular inmate mail, everyone hates their room mates and wants to move. One inmate claims a staff member flipped her off.

Do some inmate complaints, make copies for the bigwigs, do some conduct reports. Some inmate had her socks stolen by her room mate and she wants her arrested.

My boss drops by wants to know where the bigwigs are, they have a confrence call, she takes them to the dining area for lunch, chop suey I think.

The big prison at TCI calls and wants us to pick one up, she is now mentally stable, I send an officer up, they call back and want us to pick up a second one, I say they can both ride in the same van. TCI calls back inmate number two found out she was coming back and became unstable, so she stays.

Boss want to confrence with me but she sees it is 4:30 by now and time for her to go home, we'll meet later.

had an ex-inmate call she is doing ok working for the Urban league, she says she avoiding her old customers. but she did give some away for free, hope thats not illegal.

6:00 time to go home, have a meeting tomorrow at 7:00 am. the place hasn't changed much, pretty much uncontolled chaos.

I skipped the chop suey and the sub for dinner, had rice-a-roni at home and some watermelon.

Still no mail.

I sent the parking ticket I got in the Dells in the mail tonight. I am on call this weekend oh boy

When you go on vacation, don't worry about leaving it all behind. It will still be there when you get back! And then some!

And it'll be there long after we leave, and our old associates will get along fine without us. The vast majority of us can truthfully say that we simply are not indespensible within the orgainzations where we work. That's as it should be.

As Benjamin Franklin once said, "Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both."

I hope you are compensated for being on call. When I did the swat thing, we were not. Learn to leave the phone off and/or get another one that only family knows about. Be safe.

Had our 7 am meeting today, lots of emergencies while I was gone. ER runs, sick calls, TCI runs just my normal shift, but some aren't used to that and get panicky.

They all wanted more staff on their shifts just in case. I asked what happens if it is quiet what will you have them do? no answers.

I still have 172 hours of vcation to use, I will put some into sabbatical nad cash some in.
