I belong to another Forum (automotive) there we have sponsers. They are businesses that advertise on the site. In this case, ammo dealers , holster and assories. There has been alot on the topic over there, we support the sponsors. If a non sponsor tries to advertise, the guys are quick to get on them.

food for thought , sorry about the spelling

Nope. Mine was written on 1/2 and hit my bank on 1/7.

As far as advertising is concerned, part of what makes this forum great is our lack of having anyone to be beholden to...except the owners, of course. Thats why we don't have "dues" or sell memberships. Our members here give and take knowledge as best we can discover it. We're not a commercial entitity. We live in the private livingroom of the owners. To say its a non-profit operation is an understatement.

But this is the most civil place on the internet I've found. Its also the best S&W resource anyplace. Just like Superman, we fight a never ending battle for truth, justice, and the American way. We do a good job of it. If it costs us a little from time to time, so be it.

Mailed 16 January and cleared the bank 6 February, but, since I mailed from Japan, probably took a week to get there.

I get a lot more enjoyment outta this forum than I do cable TV subscriptions. Spend more time here than I do watchin' TV for sure, too.

Thanks, Lee. Wink I saw you at the Trade Center last gunshow, but you were engaged in a conversation when I walked past. Nice looking Smiths you had on the table.

For those of you who don't know Lee Jarrett, he is truly one of the good guys, someone who can be trusted in business dealings. I've known Lee for 20 years, and I wouldn't hesitate to take his word for anything he says about Smith&Wessons.

For those of you whose checks have not cleared, that's being attended to in the next few days.
My sincere appreciation and thanks to all who've contributed. By contributing, you are ensuring the continued existance of this forum.

I live on Sigforum but para is the owner admin there also. He runs an excellent, tight ship. I'll make a contribution again. It's well worth it.

Lee, we can be friends, but you don't ever have to say #2 or #3 to me. In fact, I'd prefer it if we just stay friends! Big Grin

I would be more than happy to contribute to this forum. I am a newbie here, but I have gotten a ton of valuable info and met some pretty cool doods in the process Smiler
I am also a member of the Corvetteforum and the Thompson Machinegun forum and would like to suggest a program they have instituted there...Recognition for donating members.
On the Corvetteforum they give stars for different levels of contribution (Silver for $25, Gold for $50, 4 gold for $100 and life membership), etc. On the Thompson forum they simply have "$Contributer$" under the person's forum name.
You'd be surprised what a little recognition does to motivate folks Wink
Here's an example on the Thompson forum:

I just posted my new member intro today but I would be delighted to make a donation to the forum...I have learned more about S&W's in a few weeks of reading the forum than several years of gun mags. Thanks Mike for a great place to exchange info and comments.

Blessings, Paul
