Heads up on a new gun shop opening in Columbia Illinois, July 12th and 13th, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., both days.
It is, "SHOOTER'S", 310 BB ROAD, COLUMBIA ILL., 62236, 618-980-4747 OR 618-281-6393, shootersfirearms@cs.com
Owned by Joe, Tony and Susan Caito, who I highly recommend you get to know, NICE PEOPLE.
By the way it's a treat to see the new shop Joe and Tony built theirselves.
I have no business interest here, but wanted to pass this along to people in the St. Louis, Metro area.

Why would anyone open a gun shop in the anti-gun state of IL?

Thank goodness someone will otherwise the graboids would have completely won. Good luck to their venture and I hope the political winds stay at their backs.

Best of luck to them. Hopefully Heller will spread to IL, and this will help them.

Great News!
I hope the second location in their successful chain of 50 stores, is right next to the capitol building in Springfield! Store #3? Right next to whatever facility the current governor is finally incarcerated in! 4th location? Bridgeport neighborhood in Chicago (anyone from Illinois knows why!)

The anti-gun state of Illinois? Do you mean the state which is home to the Grand, the largest shotgun competition in the United States? Possibly the largest gun competition, period, in the United States?

I met these nice folks at the last Bellville show. They had quality arms at reasonable prices. Not super deals but not upper teir either.

Actually Illinois is very pro-gun outside of Chicago and a couple of other big cities. Springfield Armory, Rock River Arms, Armalite, Lewis Machine and Tool, DSA, and Richard Heinie are here. Les Baer was here but recently moved to Iowa. Some others may leave too though, if Blago and Daley get their AWB. Mad

It was the down-state Illinois Democrats who sold out Glenn Poshard when he was running for governor. Though a Democrat, the guy was solidly pro-gun, unlike that miserable Republican wretch and now felon who beat him--George Ryan. And, here's the uplifting part: Ryan will die in prison.

Find it ironic?
Ryan unilaterally throws over the death penalty in Illinois as governor. And ends up dying in prison for shenanigans pulled, while governor.
That is just toooo succulent for words...

OK, I just wanted to say a few nice words for some very nice and honest people in a tough enough business, that are doing this on the side.
SCREW the politics of the State of Illinois, and welcome these brave people, who like you and me , fight for the right to sell and own our firearm's in this endangered country.

You are correct of course Catdad!
I am delighted they had the courage and ambition to start their business. And the fine folks of the land of Lincoln should support them in any way they can. Independent start up's always deserve support. They are the back bone of the country.
