The Fugates are bragging that this forum's controversy has swamped their web site with hits AND bids.

A dealer in high end Smith revolvers opines that the fugates have driven up the price on prime pieces at least a hundred dollars each in the past year alone.

They are dumb like foxes and this forum is feeding them.

jayouth,

I respectfully dispute your assertion that this forum is feeding the f-gates.

ONE small town internet dealer has driven up prices nationally? Really?

I ain't drinking that kool-aid.

And if prices are up. Good, MY stuff is worth more too.

If you say so. Roll Eyes

You seem to forget that they SPAMMED the members of this forum, and the issue had to be addressed. I don't believe any of the bragging about what good it's done them, because it hasn't. People who already know about them aren't going to be looking for their references on the web, and therefore we're not driving any new business to them. Those who don't, and who are cautious buyers, will search for references on the web, and guess what they're finding.

It's just more bullshit from these not-too-bright hicks.

Anybody have a picture of these SOBs just in case they are again trolling the Nashville Gunshow this weekend?

I am not taking up for the Fugates or trying to execuse their behavior on this forum or otherwise act as their spindoctor or PR guy.

However, they are enjoying the controversy. Every dealer that I have talked to laughs about the controversy increasing the hits and bids on their website. Whether or not its true, I have no way of knowing. But it has provided them with publicity and lookers that they did not otherwise have. They are indeed from a small town but thanks to the internet, are a market maker in minty Smith revolvers. And as Hitman pointed out, all our old Smiths are worth more as a result.

They will be at the Nashville Fairgrounds show this weekend. Ask any dealer or the promoter, they will point them out.

And so you're posting this...why?

And you would have addressed the wholesale spamming of members of this forum...how?

They're singlehandedly driving up prices, they are basking in this spotlight (which makes them come off looking so good), etcetera. What else are you going to suggest? That they can influence the outcome of the upcoming Presidential Election? Reverse Global Warming?

Do me a favor- let me handle this, OK? The entire "There's no such thing as bad press" crowd can just keep it to themselves, because there most assuredly is such a thing as bad press.

Typical redneckish response: "Oh yeah, man! We're lovin' this!" I wouldn't expect any different from them.

Hey now, there is no reason to denigrate rednecks. I know rednecks and the FU brothers don't even raise to that level. They are more like something pumped from my septic system.

The idea that high volume bad publicity is helping the F-gates drive up Smith prices like the Hunt brothers did with silver prices is laughable. These guys are NOT the Hunt brothers. Maybe Daryl and Daryl from the Newhart show.

Well, it may be driving up hits on their website, but I've never met anyone yet who enjoys being taken advantage of in a transaction.

People may be looking, but as long as there's the knowledge that their prices are too high and the guns may not be "exactly as advertised" only rich fools will buy.

Kinda reminds me of the legend that Nero was playing the violin while Rome was burning...

If this "works" so well- why aren't other dealers trying to join the band wagon and spam me, you, this and other forums???

That's just bad business- period.
If it's "working" to help their business- it blows away any and every thing I ever learned in business...

That means I can lie to and cheat people and still gain business? To think I've been doing it the wrong way all these years. Roll Eyes

I can speak only for myself. After being spammed by them and learning of their slippery ways I will never do business with them.

I don't like spam and I don't like slippery ways...
