NOTHING WRONG? Well, I for one don't like them sending unsolicited emails (SPAM) to my S&W Forum listed email address for the sole purpose of furthering their commercial business. That's not the purpose of this privately-owned forum, as I understand it.

Was I speaking to the issue of spam e-mails?

No?

I didn't think so. Thank you. Roll Eyes

I can understand that Para doesn't want his website(s) harvested for e-mail addresses, but does getting ONE spam e-mail really bother YOU that much?

I probably got the same one you did..somehow...I managed to not let it ruin my day.

I get junk and spam e-mail EVERY DAY. I don't go on a holy crusade over it. I just delete them. Roll Eyes

I agree. I'd love to see this get locked and fade away. I get tired of seeing it at the top of the list every time I look at this forum. It's not as if though it's about something important like school-bus-stop frequency. Razzer

Well, the issue itself is very important to the Forum as a whole, particularly with regard to the operation of the classified section. But it can't devolve into personal attacks, certainly.

You'll never see that as long as Para is the boss, for very good reasons.

Well, now I have a Fugate Firearms story to tell:

I have run into one of life's speedbumps, and have to sell some guns to raise some funds. I start listing them here in the Classifieds.

One of them is a three inch CS-1 I bought new in December, 1986 and hadn't shot. I ask $750 plus $50 shipping.

On May 13, I get an almost immediate response from "Fugotti" who says he will take it for the asking price. No other name. I say, okay, and give him payment and FFL info.

I suspect it may be Fugate, but...

On May 14, next day, I get an e-mail from John Fugate. He tells me that, if the sale I have accepted falls through, he will give me $900 plus $50. "Don't take this offer the wrong way, just in case... plan B..." He also offers me $50 more than I had already accepted for a Model 647 that was already "SPF"-ed.

So I get the money order and FFL from "Fugotti." Sure enough, it is Matt Fugate from Fugate Firearms!

I will admit that I did, for a few long minutes, consider accepting the extra money from John and stiffing Matt, just to see what would happen!

It was my understanding that the gun did go to them. I intended to contact you today about it. Where's the gun now?

They still have it. Apparently, it was "not as advertised" and Matt wanted his money refunded. After a couple of back-and-forths, I offered to refund it all including shipping both ways when I get the gun back. I faxed him my FFL's license copy so he could mail it back (cheaper than UPS) but Matt wants the money before returning the gun. He said, in order to "not lose any money" he would sell it to another member here for what he paid, plus the shipping he paid.

It is okay for Matt to do to someone else what he claimed I am doing to him. Ironic.

He had a couple of vaild issues with the gun, and that is why I would rather buy it back (I offered a refund if not satisfied in my ad; the issue with Matt was over shipping costs) and relist it with more information for a lower price. I did miss some things, trusting my memory rather than looking at the gun closely when describing it.

Ball is in his court.

Fair warning to all here- Know who you are dealing with. I'm just going to cut loose members who deal with these guys.

BUFF, if that gun had gone to them, you'd be out of here. Know who you are dealing with.

I'm not kidding, folks. It may seem heartless to some of you, but by the time I'm finished, all members who conduct business in Classifieds are going to know the score.
You guys need to be aware that there are several members who watch Classifieds, record the sales, and monitor the Fumigate's website. I am getting emails from certain members on nearly a daily basis about these activities. Fair warning.

BUFF,

This is why I asked you "Who won the guns", because I didn't see anyone on the forum say "I'll take it".

I knew that it was probably the Fugates that bought the guns from you but you wouldn't tell me - remember!

Now I have the Fugates emailing me, asking if I am still interested in the CS-1 that I got from BUFF.

Here is the email I got from them:

I bought the CS-1 that was on the forum from BUFF. Just wondering if you are still interested in it?
