Maybe it is just me, but I always thought it was in bad taste to list an item on more than one "free" board/forum at one time.

Either list it on one or the other, or withdraw it from one and list it on the other. No auction site that I have ever seen will allow you to put it on a competitor's auction site at the same time. Well, I guess you can, if you can afford the fees and don't get caught.

I've only sold one item in the classifieds here (have posted three), but am thinking of posting some more junk I mean stuff.

It's not that anyone here should be making a livelihood out of Para's gracious free-use bandwidth- if they are, send him a big check please!

I understand that there are quite a few that abuse the Classifieds, and I'm all for weed'n out the garden from time to time. Anything that anyone comes up with won't please everyone...I just hope it cuts the Kentucky-gates fuel money off!

Does the Colt Forum also fall under the domain of Parabellum?
No, it's owned by someone else.

+1 Just common sense.

Anyone who backs out a deal with a buyer, simply because someone else offered them more money is an unethical jerk in my book, and I don't want anyone like that around here.
I don't know, guys, maybe it's silly of me to expect a man to honor a made deal. Crazy, huh? Roll Eyes

And people like those nitwit Fumigate brothers, making such offers to break a deal, are no better. That's low. How do you think people like this act in situations where it's a choice between more money, and their word? Do you really want to deal with people like that? No thanks.

I am in absolute agreement, and I continue to believe that the huge majority of the members are indeed honorable and ethical. (All the ones I've met, or dealt with certainly are) I suggested specifically forbidding that type of practice so that there is no excuse for the "Who, me? What did I do?" type of BS like the Fumigates tried right before you pulled the plug on them.

These are the rules. Violate them and you may very well go bye-bye. Simple, direct, and no room for mis-interpretation. JM2C

And I suspect more often than not, thankless as well.
+ a big one on the thank you. I have become the "go to" guy for my gun buddies on all things Smith and Wesson. Wish I could take the credit, but I learned most of it right here, and I'm grateful.

Please read my posts today made at 3:28, 7:12 and 8:23.

I did not know "Fugotti" was Matt at Fugate Firearms when I agreed to sell it to him. He did not put his name on his e-mail to me, just "I'll take it" for the asked price. He was the first to repond. I did not know who "Fugotti" was until several days later when his payment and FFL copy arrived. He had not used his normal e-mail trailer advertising his web site and business until well after I had shipped the gun.

By then, I had acepted his offer marked it "SPF" and had his money in hand. Should I have changed the rules of the sale then? After it was a done deal?

I am sorry I sold the CS-1 to them. I would not have had I known who "Fugotti" was.

Its a win, win solution to me, IMHO Big Grin

Todd

I'm with Todd on this one....and thanks Para for your efforts.

I've done a fair amount of buying on this forum and I really don't see that the proposed rule would cause much of a hardship.
