Oops. I think I accidentally used his email address on a gay porn site.

I just received one as well. I can't recall ever having any correspondence with him, and I think I've changed my email address since he was kicked off here so I was wondering how I got so "lucky".

I got the same mail too.

Not only is this mail non-professional, non-friendly, and just down-right-suspicious- I am very unhappy that such a.....carpetb@gger would try such a trick.

I think the good people of Kentucky should run him out of business by doing no business.

I don't know about where the rest of y'all come from- but the "C" word mentioned above is a curse word down here- hope I don't get censored!

Just Found one in my JUNK folder..

Now I know what where to send all those PIA solicitations I get from Citibank! Now I have a place to send all the inserts and magazine cards that you get with the gas bills etc. and Citi can pay the bill to ship junk email to Fugate! Not much but a liitle support for CDNN, cost Citi a few bucks and "Screwgates" mailman will hate him after the hernia operation!!

He has violated the Federal CAN-SPAM law by not providing an OPT-OUT provision in the email, so it constitutes it as illegal SPAM.

I'm forwarding his email, as per the instructions on the FTC website, to: SPAM@UCE.GOV

If they get enough emails forwarded to them they will go after the guy, so everyone... forward those emails and let's get the scum bag.

I just forwarded mine to abuse@mediacomcc.com, which is the email address provided by mchsi.com to report abuses, with the following note:

I received the attached SPAM email from one of your subscribers, (edit to remove the jerk's email address for posting here). This email appears to be a result of your subscriber “mining” thousands of email addresses from a forum community and sending thousands of unsolicited SPAM emails to the members of that privately owned online community, from which he has been banned for unethical behavior. I expect Mediacom to take any and all actions necessary to prevent this individual from continuing to send SPAM using your network, as such activity is specifically prohibited in your code of conduct for subscribers.

UPDATE: I received an automated reply from Mediacom and there was another email address listed for complaints: abuse@mchsi.com - I sent my complaint to that address as well

The best way to deal with this kind of spam is directly with the ISP. ISPs respond to direct complaints. I sent the following to abuse@mediacomcc.com and abuse@mchsi.com

Sirs:

I received the following unsolicited commercial email from one of your IPs. It seems that this person mined email addresses from a specialty hobby forum: smith-wessonforum.com. This email was sent to many members after seemingly mining the addresses from member information after this person was banned repeatedly for improper behavior. See threads with over one hundred responses:

http://smith-wessonforum.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/530103904/m/5911092772
I repeat that this email was unsolicited, and offers no opt-out.

I included the headers pasted into the body of the email as forwarded. I already got a form reply.

Sabre beat me to it. I just want to repeat and emphasize - the ISP can needs headers to properly track the offending email.
