You can legislate morals. I believe in California this would be called a 187.

Or more likely PCP.

Ultimately, it is the fate of every civilized man to know with(in) himself he can pretend bravery, and most likely, never have it truely called to test. Between a man and a (Cape) buffalo, there is no pretense.

Add one more to the things that were once unimaginable.

And one more reason to carry in an apparently powerless society.

What an awful thing to happen to a child. This is plain sick. Put me down as being glad that bastard was shot to death. He'll be missed I'm sure.

kudos to the Cops.......Nice Shot. The bystanders should all be ashamed of themselves.Would have been nicer for him to have died from massive head trauma inflicted by a tire iron and some steel toe boots. It only reinforces the saying that California is "The land of fruit and nuts".....God Bless.....Mike

May God welcome this poor child into heaven, wrap his arms around him, sooth his fears, dry his tears, and spend eternity making sure this child is comforted.

As some of you know I work in a busy pediatric ER and this is Waaaayyyyy too common a situation.

I truly do not know where this type of behavior is going to end. I know that we, as a nation, need to declare in clear and understandable language, to these slimy bastards that prey upon our children, that once your are caught and convicted, we will not suffer your existance any more.

I fully understand that this is harsh, but the consequences of allowing this to continue is harsher.

How in the hell do all those people fail to stop a man killing an child?
Someone couldn't have hit him with a rock, tree branch, tire iron, etc?
Those bystanders will be regretting their actions for the rest of their lives. And rightly so.
Even if I was old and frail and unarmed, I would at least go challenge the guy and attack him long enough for someone to snatch the kid.
America has lost it's survival skills. Now how the hell am I supposed to go to sleep tonight after reading this?

Locally,

one good samaritan was beaten with a shotgun butt and threatened with the busness end of said shotgun.

Another good samaritan was beaten and kicked in the heat when down and died.

A third tried to interven in a domestic(TRO involved) and was stabbed to death in the parking lot.

Hawaii Chiefs of Police DO NOT ISSUE CCW no matter what reasons are given.

I think Good Samaritans are learning to mind their own business.

Course, I carry a P & S camera with a LOoong Opitical Zoom Lens so I can be a good witness in court.

Shame on you ugly mob-types. This fellow deserves a trial.

I don't understand your point.

I'm pretty sure his statement is tongue-in-cheek.

Stanislaus county is mostly rural except for modesto where the Scott Peterson deal happened.
supposedly it is one of the ares of PRK where one stands a chance of getting CCW.

anyway, hope this guy is violated with satan's hot poker every day for eternity.

Is it the fear of lawsuits or what kind of de-sensitizing do we have in this country when people (bystanders) allow this to go on ? i wasnt there so i dont know but this sickens me.

I heard about this yesterday as it happened only 20 miles south of me. Nice job by the S.O. helicopter pilot and the Modesto PD observer that put an end to this madman......

Really a sad state of affairs that continues to go on in this country.

+1 When bad behavior hits a brick wall it stops.

Don't carry a gun because of what may happen today. Carry because once, just once, and at the least likely time imaginable, you may run into the worst monster you ever could imagine. Be their worst nightmare and resist them with all the stubbornness that our pioneer ancestors posessed. To do less is to be unamerican.

With all due respect Yogi, you could really stand by and watch someone stomp an infant to death and at best, take a picture of it happening? Are you serious?
