If you could have the best of the old time factory assembelers, with all the old time parts that ever was available at smith and/or colt, and have them do anything you want done, what would be your dream gun?
I have a lot of ideas, but will sit on them and let you guys go first.
Lets include winchester too.

Personally, I'd want a Model 14 made from CNC machined parts, assembled, fitted and finished by one of the S&W factory workers from the 1950's. I've always thought that with the precision machining of today and the fit and finish talent of yesterday, they could really put together a nice revolver.

I'd just want a First Model 44 Hand Ejector with a 4" barrel made just like they were in the 1920s.

Asi no, si andas paseando,
Y de noche sobre todo,
Debes llevarlo de modo
Que al salir, salga cortando.

I'll go along with the crowd with the first model hand ejector ,only I want mine in 44mag. and nickle plated.
From Winchester I'll take a model 66 that can handle the 44mag,
Or a 95 in 30/06 22"barrel without the tang safty!

I'd like a really slick 45 SAA sheriffs model that fit in my watch pocket, GPS laser sighting system that looked like a standard sight, and 21 shots before reload like in the movies....

a 3" barrelled .357 Smolt, with a bobbed hammer, DAO slick as can be, based on a K frame, but with a reinforced forcing cone and top strap. Sights like a registered magnum, including a gold bead front.

Okay, I will start with a winchester. I would have them build me a 92 short rifle, .256 win mag. 22" octogon barrel, fancy grade wood, longer pull because of my size. Maybe a cheekpiece stock. Probley 3 fold down rear leafs, and a lyman tang folding peep. Nice fancy checkering. No safety of course. By the way, once had a beautifull martini built in .256, on a tube mag you would have to be carefull and use a round point bullett. I have seen one 92 conversion in it.
Oh, I want a matching one in .357 mag. I did have one built up for me years ago, but made a big mistake selling it!
I will post a idea on a S&W later.

FWIW, I think the 1st Model 44 HE, AKA Triple Lock, AKA Triplelock, AKA New Century, was made from 1908 to 1915, and sold out from the S&W factory as of 1917.

feral: My dream rifle is very close to yours. I saw JB's prototype Model 92 at the Cody Museum. It was in the 'white' never having been blued. It made me think of a M 92 in stainless steel. I would like the .357 mag pistol cartridge. I would like the rifle actually made by Winchester craftsmen. I have a M 94 in blue in .357 and enjoy the heck out of plinking with it. .. Big Cholla

Tell ya how dumb I was 35 years ago, not only did I have that 92 converted and refinished and sold, right after that I came across a shot out win 73 in 32/20, and I had that one rebored and converted to .38 special and also sold it!
