No way..recycling is just another hair brained scheme by those who want to save out planet's resources!

I save my resources in the landfill where they belong. If that stuff actually has material value, they'll mine it later.

I have a buddy in the printing business. A customer came in and asked if he recycled. He replied that he did. As he related the conversation to me, I asked when he started. He said he always had. All his waste paper and cardboard was composted, in the city dump. Wink

Actually, I do recycle. I get enough money from my Dr. Pepper cans to buy a couple of six packs of Shiner Bock (in glass bottles, of course). Big Grin

I have a hard time throwing away tins. Sometimes I even buy products that I have no use for simply to get the tin. I found some horrible tasting and stale German shortbread cookies on clearance after Christmas, but I wanted the tin. I keep shotgun shells in it now.

Same situation with a tin of British tea.

Recycling, of course- have been for generations!

We reuse all of our half-pint, pint, quart and half-gallon jars every year.

All the wood ashes go in the garden.

All the motor oil goes in the driveway to kill grass.

Any brass or lead I can find at the range gets brought home...

You get the idea! Wink

That reminds me...

Last time I was in Mississippi, I was driving down US-45 just south of Winchester, as I recall, and saw this big cloud of smoke in the distance- (you can see a long way down that road)...and when I got up there- it was a junkyard on the side of the highway that was burning tires.

I thought to myself- I am proud that someone still can burn tires in this country! It's still free.

Next earth day, let's all vow to recycle a tire or two...for the barbque!

I have to confess, I do the same thing. Can't throw away a good container. Officially, it's called Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder!!!
