The following poem was sent to me, and I want to share it with other Marines and Corpsmen on the list.

Here's a poem written by a Navy Corpsman, over a year ago...

He was attached to the Fleet Marine Force, in Iraq .

Bury me next to a Marine,
When my time has come to an end,
So I can spend eternity,
Beside my brother and my friend

I've served beside them for years
And they've inspired me every day.
They've never asked for anything,
So a debt I can never repay.

None of them served for glory,
None for money or fame.
But they've served in every clime and place,
Heroes with but one name.

No one will ever outdo them,
Their honor is nev er outdone.
They will all go down in history,
As America 's favorite sons.

Marines will never fail you,
And their guard will never cease.
Please bury me next to a Marine,
So I may rest in peace.

Thank you for posting this. It's ben almost 2 years since I lost my cousin and little brother Christopher to a mortar attack in Ramadi, Iraq. He was a corpsman serving with the Marine infantry. It does bring some comfort to know that he found his purpose and a sense of brotherhood. He now rests alongside his brothers at Arlington.

Most folks don't realize that Navy Corpsman provide the medical attention for the Marines. They are authorized to wear both uniforms, which can be confusing at times! Thanks for posting this, considering the Navy anniversary and all.

I have a Marine and one in the Navy, I sent it to both of them. Both have been to the sand box and both came home. I was blessed where some aren't, my prayers go out for all of them, and thank God we have them.

Later, John
