Of course it is. Still a tropical storm, but it's the second coming of Katrina to the media. I can't wait for the typical footage of some talking head standing in the wind. Roll Eyes

That's what scares me too. Let's hope it stays weaker because Charlie was downright painful.

Latest on TV is that it is expected to come in as a category 7 with a 56 foot storm surge-Is then expected to go back over the gulf, strengthen into an 8 or 9 and then hit Louisiana sometime Wednesday night. People are getting ready to head into Texas remembering the big Katrina Welcome-Texas is getting ready to blow the border bridge.

And now for something light and airy-
Elizabeth Hurley is making her way to Shugart's house for the birthday celebration-Pete is meeting them there with some kind of blue pill Eeker

Did you hear the collective groan from the MSM? Fay is now forecast to stay a tropical storm.

Yeah but the Wallyworld had 'em stacked. Drove by the St Cloud store on the way home from work. I mean you had to take a bus in from the lot. Stimulus check my ass. Tell folks (both in English and Espanol of course) there's a storm coming and the bullseye is your house, and generators can suddenly fly. On the wings of the "Visa". Stay safe and dry. Joe

...and government officials wonder why people don't heed their warnings. When you keep crying "Wolf!" and hype non-existent hurricanes, why should people listen?

I'm sitting here at the computer, with the late night local news on. They were talking about the storm, and how some dumb sob was flying a kite on a beach. I turn around to look at the television, and I see a guy flying through the air. They said he sailed a bit before being stopped by a building. Ha! What a dumbass!

My son is going to school in St. Augustine. The storm is currently tracking right toward that area.
