Maxine, the found in a parking lot, older than dirt dog. She has been the best greatest dog in the world. Despite all the GSDs she maintains her dominance. With me she is a demure puppy. She is by the vet's guess 16 now. We've had her 9 years after my wife found her. She has nothing but love for us. Oh yeah, and the worst breath around. The vet said live with it. We had to have most of her teeth pulled early on because she had chewed on a chain. We could have bought a AKC champion for what we have in this girl... who cares!
In a few days she'll have another GSD to put up with. Honestly, she hates them. Give her a hand...

She's a pretty little girl for being that old. Looks just like my long haired doxie.

Good luck with the pup.

A rousing round of applause for Maxine and mans best friend! Where would we be without these wonderful animals? Lost and lonely I suspect.

She kinda looks like you Ted, except without the waffle and her ears are floppy. Big Grin

They know when they've been rescued, and, unlike many people, never forget that you've done something good for them. You're a good man, Ted. Even if you do play dress up with your food. Razzer Big Grin

What did Mark Twain say?

"A dog will not bite the hand that feeds it. This is the chief difference between men and dogs."

In her case, she probably can't really bite anyway, but it's the thought that counts!

Great dog, great people for saving her.

I like only two brands of double-actions, "Smith" and "Wesson".

[There's some nice Colts too!]

Anybody wonder why I like dogs more than most people? And then the subject comes up about people that mistreat dogs. I do understand why some people mistreat other humans, some of them just need it.

Every time I've brought a new pup into the group it seems to add another year to the oldest dog's life. It seems as if they have a new job to do setting them straight. Best of luck to you.

Maxine says thanks for the compliments and she does love her daddy as you tell by the Back Field in Motion. We named her Maxine so we could call her Max because everyone says she looks like the Grinche's dog. I've got to put a stick on her head for next year's Christmas cards. She has outlived a few dogs of ours and they have all gone to their maker with at least one puncher scar from what canine teeth she has left. It only takes once for them usually to learn not to mess with the old gal. She has street smarts. I call her the Dumpster Dog or sometimes Frankendog. Yes, I think she is a mix of long hair dauschund and beagle (she can put up a get 'em howl like nobodies business when she sees a rabbit.) Here is the whole dog, any ideas as to her heritage?
