Well, even though I am fighting off a nasty cold, I went and bought a Dan Wesson .357 to add to my collection of hunting handguns. Today I decided to do my first trigger job on my 25 Mountain Gun. I watched Jerry Miculek's DVD as a step by step (some little differences with the MIM guns) but it came out great and the action is now much improved. Now I am going to pick up house a bit, take some Sudafed, and watch some TV and hope for streamers when the cold medication kicks in.

Yesterday morning, I took my 2 daughters shopping for school clothes and supplies.($500) Eeker

Last night, I smoked a $20 brisket on my old Portable Kitchen cast aluminum grill from 5:30 to 11:30 p.m. It came out great, but we didn't eat it until tonight. I sliced some of it cold, mixed up a bit of bacon grease, butter, vinegar, water, and a tiny bit of BBQ sauce to heat in the microwave for a quick baste, since I didn't catch any of the drippings.

I made fresh steamed corn on the cob, some canned baked beans, and we had a slice of light bread to go with it also.

I also watched "There Will Be Blood" this weekend. Really neat coreography, and a good movie. For those that don't know better, and might think this is a horror film, it's about the start of the oil boom in the early 1900's.

I also did the usual laundry and dishes thing.

Overall, a good relaxing weekend. Smiler

At about 10p.m. Friday night I got on a charter bus with about 50 other people[mostly teens] to arive in Washington D.C. at 8:30ish. My #2 son [he's been out of the Marines about 5 years] and I walked a Mile and half to the Washington Monumont. We laid hands on it and prayed for our nation. Then walked over to pay our respects at the Vietnam Wall, then went to the Capital end of the Mall and participated in 12 hours of Worship and Prayer for this country. Got on the bus and went home. Sunday night I put a new return spring in the S&W 422. Good weekend.

The GF took off to Ohio with one of her buds to some high-end basket factory. Yeah I know, it sounded really suspicious to me, too. I didn't ask.... Roll Eyes

I decided to do as little as possible this weekend and can report that I have succeeded admirably. Smiler

Ate a lot of madders, watched several DVD's (Ronin, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, Snatch), watched several Alfred Hitchcock Hour programs on HULU, worked on a coupla books, played on the Internet, and listened to some music.

If ya'll don't know about HULU, you might want to check it out -- that way you can waste even more of your life on your 'puter. They have lots of old TV shows and some movies with not very annoying commercials at no cost. The quality/resolution isn't hi-def, but is decent. Most of the material is NBC/Fox/Universal. It's just been up and running since March. Here is a link to The Blue Max, an excellent flick that I also watched.

A completely unproductive, but a very pleasant weekend. Smiler

Hmmm...well Saturday morning I took a 75 mile spin on the Harley, stopped by a local bike shop to shoot the breeze with a couple of buddies and got the oil changed in the bike. Wife and son both had to work. In the late afternoon I went to the farm and blew through a couple boxes of ammo in the .38 and the P22. Granddaughter spent the night which is always a highlight.

Today was great with breakfast with the wife, son and granddaughter....then the girls did their thing and the guys went to the farm, killed some more targets, cleaned up some areas with the Homelite, came home tired and very happy.

Yep....its been a great weekend of doing whatever I want whenever I want.

The plant is shut down. All of the manufacturing techs are gone. Me and my crew spent Saturday draining toxic chemicals and removing contaminated filters from equipment that will be shipped overseas, probably China. We're finished by the end of September.

Got a great parking spot, though.

Longaberger. It's real, my wife went with some friends. They have a nice spiral basket with a lid that's only $750. Here's the corporate headquarters, there's no money in basket weaving ! Eeker

Friday night I spent playing with my daughters, 3 and 1 years old. Saturday I cleaned up after Friday night, did weekend chores and errands, worked on some glass, then did some reading and internet surfing. Saturday night I spent a couple of hours outdoors looking at Jupiter and 4 moons, and Io transversing, with a telescope I mean. Today I spent the day at Wells Beach in Maine with both my daughters, had a lobster/clam dinner, and just got home a short time ago.

Chad -

Yep, that's it. Longaberger. This must be a chick thing, like weddings and cocktail dresses.

$750 for a fucking basket? I don't think so... At least she doesn't have my VISA card (just looked to be sure). I wouldn't pay $750 to see a gnat's ass stretched across a rain barrel. Roll Eyes
