Cab back uptown to John Hancock building, observe Illinois, Indiana, Southwestern Michigan, urban Chicago, and Blue Angels airshow (from above) on 94th floor observation deck !!! Rendezvous with mom and sibs at Drake hotel for cocktails in elegant lobby bar, then to Chicago Yacht Club to mingle with race weekend crews (this involved Margaritas, mixed dockside, in 2-cycle gasoline blender...), prime rib buffet, way cool old yacht racing trophies in display cases, historical photos, &tc. Then, leaving Mom behind at the Knickerbocker, cab to near southside, sibs and I catch up-and-coming jazz trumpeter Cory Wilkes at Andy's. Sunday AM, stroll a few blocks through elegant old neighborhoods to hustle and bustle of Rush Street --- brunch at Bistro Zinc, then curbside adieus sib Susan and I off to Field Museum of Natural History to see "Sue", the best of the world's T-Rex fossils, the Tsavo lions, and a special exhibit on Polynesian Isles, from whence came my sister's adopted child. Thence, delayed flight home to Phoenix. Had to wind down today by driving to Tucson, Sierra Vista, stopping briefly at Coronado National Monument, lunch at Bisbee Grille, business meeting in Tombstone, quick stops at Whetstone, Vail, then home to Mesa. Otherwise, an uneventful few days...

WOW! I am jealous; if you had worked in a Cubbies game that would have been a perfect weekend. Chicagoland...one of the greatest places in the world.

Be safe.

The wife and I took my baby girl to college. Man, it was hard leaving her 200 miles from home. This one was a lot harder on me than the first one 5 years ago.

Had a three day weekend!! Hiked up to Passage Creek Falls on Fri. Sat went to the Livingston Montana Gun show. Very nice, lots of Smiths. Bought some ammo and a nice holster for a 3" K-frame. Sunday went to the Livingston Rod & Gun club to shoot my 30-06. I am not much of a rifle fan but got a mule deer license for this fall so am trying to get used to a bolt action and a scope. I haven't hunted since the 70's so this should be a hoot. Montana is truely the most beautiful place I've ever lived. Chop
