Are you gonna have a smith make you a M&P 10mm barrel? If so more details about your project!

As a REGULAR catalog item? If so, that's prayers answered.

Gotta run over to the home pages, printed catalogs get dated....

OK found it in the online cataloge.

It has a SKU number (catalog number) in the 15xxx range, which makes it a "Classic gun" item

SKU16xxx is regular production
SKU17xxx is performance center

Great news, the 610 is TRULY a classic!

Now to make that model LAST, and to underline that this is a 40/10mm caliber, just like the 38 calibers was marketed as 38/357 at around the time S&W stopped making .38 Special K&L frames, I feel S&W should INCLUDE moonclips with these guns, so that anyone could fire .40 S&W right out of the box.

S&W has always provided "moon clips" with their Model 610's as a matter of course (for both the extraction of fired 10mm cases and headspacing the .40 S&W cartridge.)

LOVE my 1076. Bought a G20 because it was a 15 shot 10mm. But, it was a Glock and it was never comfortable/natural. My M&P40 is the most accurate .40S&W I have ever seen. M&P45 feels just as good. What do we have to do to have/make S&W make the M&P in 10mm?! I'm sure you all know about the online petition (if not I'll post a link).

S&W reintroducing the 610 is a good sign for 10mm but...

I WANT a M&P10!! What are my other choices? G20, EAA Witness?

I wish this with all my might,
A Smith & Wesson M&P 10mm with night sites,
You can place it under the Christmas tree tonight,
That's what I wish an M&P 10mm that's right!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Do you think the M&P platform would handle the pounding of the 10mm?

The M&P should be able to handle the power of the 10mm with the proper slide weight and recoil springs. If the Glock 29 and 20 can deal with the power I'm sure S&W can achieve a good product aswell.

Thanks Outrider and sorry ErikP. Haven’t looked in on this part of the forum for awhile… Figured it had to have been posted on here before… Been stuck on some other forums where double posting big no no, get a USE THE SEARCH response and the thread locked…. Good to be back here with all of you folk!!!

I think it would! If a Glock 20 and 29 can, why not an M&P?
What Shadow1006 said…oops didn’t see your post. Can’t see S&W not producing a product better/nicer than a Glock. Glock makes a good and reliable pistol but compare the feel and LOOKS(style) to a M&P. IMHO, I trust a Glock but it feels like your sighting over a 2x4 and points high, it’s uncomfortable for me to angle my wrist down to get the sights on target. My M&P just points itself.

I still believe that enough of us got together, Lew Horton may be able to get PC to make a special run/order for those of us dying for a M&P10. My only concern is how many are needed. If there’s only ?? signatures now on the petition (haven’t checked it recently), how many of them would say yes to a special order? Is that enough to get Lew Horton (or anyone) to do it?

I’m not giving up! I need a M&P10!! I’m getting to the point where I’ll get a M&P45 and send it to ____ and have it remade into a 10mm… It may cost me $2500 but, I’d have the only M&P that fires 10mm. What do we have to do to have S&W to make a M&P10??

All you have to do is guarantee Smith and Wesson it will sell like hotcakes, and they will build it.
