I have one of the early 3" adj. sighted .38 spl model 60's, have always thought it would make an ideal 6-shot .22 lr trail gun.

Buy the J-frame model 63 w/5" Bbl. Len
and have it shortened to 3" length.

and it's an 8 shot cyl.

Had to look, is a 60-4. .32 mag would be a ton of fun as well. These small(er) bores seem to be tweaking my interest more and more of late. Anyone know of a source for the short-lived 9mm Federal brass? Might be another for no particular reason fun thing to do....

Technically it would be a Model 63 with a 3" barrel. Just stretch the 2" one on mine:

Kinda think the full underlug on the 60-4 makes the look.

I, too, have a 3" 60 in 38 special, and agree with jfw042,the look with the full underlug would perfect.

Price a 3" 60 in .22LR right and I'll buy two, one for me and one for my wife. I carry a 3" 60 full underlug in .357 and my wife carries a 3" 36 Airweight in 38 Spec. with the skinny barrel.

A .22 version would be wonderful. We do have a J frame 4" .22 but it doesn't balance like my heavier 60 so it doesn't work as an understudy to my pistol. It is just shooting another .22 which of course, taint a bad thing.
