Hello all,

Just thinking about the "one .357 Mag for every 10 .38 Spl. fired" mumbo jumbo, and the fact that the barrel thread dimension area in the frame is a little thin, and then it dawned on me:

Picture a "dark" (think parkerized or one of the whizz-bang, high speed, modern finishes), tactical, or military type extreme environment finish, bobbed trigger with small knurlerizing at the very top of the hammer, Six (no more L frame gigantic cylinders needed thank you very muck!!) chamfered cylinders, bull barrel with full underlug, full size ejector rod, Pachmayr slim grips, or better yet Crimson Trace, and the coup-de-grace: a locking detent ball! While we're at it, how about hard chroming the barrel/cylinders for extreme resistance to fouling and harsh combat or tactical environments?

Did I mention a factory WIDE rear sight channel, with BIG TRITIUM THREE DOT SIGHTS??? Obviously, a factory DA/SA trigger and action job, etc. IN .357 Mag of course....any takers?

Did I mention I want all of this for $750-800.00????

Sorry, I was dreaming back there! What time of day is it right now? Man, I have got to start getting more sleep soon!

Keep them in the 10 ring gents.

Regards,

Matt

It'd work for me!
But I think we'd have to take the chairman of the board hostage, to ever see it? But the new Night Guards in the L frame .357 7 shooter, is about as close as you'll see. Send out the rear H/D sight to Tooltech, and have the 2 extra vials screwed into her.
I know, it's like trying to describe the most beautiful woman you've ever seen, then having to answer just WHAT makes her the most attractive?

Matt,

That's a great wish. But what you have to remember is that any business has to remain profitable in order to stay in business. All the "stuff" on your wish list is do-able....but not at a profit margin in that price range.

Dave,

I understand the whole profit margin thing. However, parkerizing is cheap, fixed sights are cheap, and 6 round cylinders use less metal than the L Frames. With CNC machinery, they ought to be able to churn out some "strictly business" revolvers. Hell, skip the scandium and titanium, and just resolve the machining practice or stainless metalurgy issues that resulted in the K Frames cracking.

Just my $0.02 worth.

Thanks for the insight Dave. Discussion and give in take are what gets things done. OK now is anyone at Smith & Wesson listening?? LOL!

Regards,

Matt

10-4, So....you want a "Mil-Spec" revolver....but then you were askin for Tritium 3 dot sights, full underlug, pachmayer grips (or Crimson Trace) and a locking detent....and then hard chroming the barrel AND the cylinders.

Gheezzzz....even my Springer Mil-spec didn't have any of that! Let's see...it came with....Ummmm.......oh yeah....a lousy trigger, and even worse sights.

I know...I'm not trying to argue with ya....hey...it never hurts to ask.....the most that will happen is you will get a "NO!"

The 3" barrel Ladysmith version of the Model 65 made of lightweight alloys would be the perfect carry gun. But then they'd put a lock in it and screw it up.

I really enjoy 3" k-frame revolvers. I still do not understand how S&W can build j-frame 357's and then say the k-frame cannot stand up to the punishment.
