I'd love to see S&W start a custom shop,Performance Center in which We could order what We want. I mean, frame, finish, barrel length,sights,grips... No lock,(Hell,I'd sign a waiver)..Whatever. I'd be willing to pay quite a bit of a premium, and wait for a custom, one off gun.

From your lips tp S&W's ears. Personally I personally vowed not to buy any S&W revolver with that damn lock. Not only do I hate it,but I wonder if causes any problems if any crud or oil gets in there?

something like when you could mail order direct from the factory and have just about any thing special ordered. great idea, don't see it ever happening. closest thing would probly be "runs" such as lew horton specials and the like. still great idea though.

This was the original idea for the PC, however, when it officially opened for business they only produced small runs for distributers. At least that's the way I remember it being pitched. Don't know if the bean counters, lawyers, or management turned it into a small production shop.

Back to the original intent of the thread. There is an early PC flyer showing the "order what you want" format for the semiautos. Back then the $$ were very high. Started at $1000 base and well over $2000 with any custom stuff Even the first of the "production runs" had high pricing= $1500-1700 retail Think $5000 custom rifles= ones cost big money-quantity lowers $$ Now back to your lock bashing thread
