If I were a savvy S&W marketing person, I would read every word on this forum to see what my customers and potential customers are thinking and wanting.

If I found a lot of people getting excited about something ANOTHER manufacturer is doing, It would tell me I might be missing the boat somewhere.

Seems to me it would be good to tolerate a bit of non-S&W talk about other manufacturers new products here, so S&W could see what they're missing.

We humans easily get complacent and follow the status quo. But seeing somebody else going out and getting what we want (sales) drives us nuts. The natural human reaction at S&W should be "Those are OUR sales those other guys are getting. We HAVE to put a stop to that!"

And all marketing people know that for every comment they hear, there are 100 other people who think the same thing, but don't say anything.

Isn't the lounge the perfect place to conduct such talk?

As I type this, the first page of the Lounge has posts on Colt, Kahr, Marlin, and Glock.

A quick look through the 2008 S&W product catalog, would seem to indicate that S&W does not have a single "savvy marketing person" in its employ.

Perhaps that is why there are so many discussions of other manufacturers firearms in the lounge, and elsewhere on the forum. Regards 18DAI.
